My PBF DS is 5-and-a-half months old. He's wonderful. But the little shit won't stop growing!

Seriously. He's in 9-12 clothes because of his weight and length. He's a bouncer just like his daddy!

Been putting off going through all of his clothes, and was finally strongarmed into it by MIL who said that she can't find anything in his wardrobe to fit him anymore.

Cue me bursting into tears and wanting him to shrink.

There are sooo many clothes that I can't bear the thought of him not wearing! His "I Love Milk" babygro with a cow pattern, his Tigger pyjamas, his soft winter-fleece baby-gro...

Wahhhhh!

This was yesterday... and I'm still a bit sniffly about it!

No YANBU. I remember going through DCs clothes and was incredulous that they were ever that small!
I didn't cut the feet off my favourite DCs babygro just so he would fit in it for a few months, noo siree
Are you keeping the clothes for the next one?

MudAndGlitter · 05/01/2012 07:35

YANBU.

I get really upset throwing out nice clothes they never got around to wearing. I haven't cried about it though. Yet.

QuietNinjaLamp · 05/01/2012 07:36

Keep the ones you really like for the next one. That's what I've done. It's a bit pfb to cry about it, blame it on hormones even if it's not true

StealthPenguin · 05/01/2012 07:36

I'm keeping them all, even though one friend has just had a boy and another is pregnant with a "mystery baby".

THEY'RE MINE ALL MINE I TELL YOU!

StealthPenguin · 05/01/2012 07:38

D0G I know what you mean. Our cot is going this weekend. It's been through 4 children (including DNiece) over 18years and now it is going.

gothicangel · 05/01/2012 07:55

yanbu, keep the things you love and give away the rest

and sorry calling your son a little shit makes my blood run cold, but thats just me i dont like it.

CheerfulYank · 05/01/2012 07:57

Oh, I know. Looking at DS' little fluffy bear suit always makes me come over funny. It was just the other day I bought it, wasn't it, when I was pregnant and thinking how silly it was that I was going to have a real live baby to dress? And since it was just other day, how is it that he will be five this summer?!

I just have DS now but intend to have more...I wonder how I will ever get through it if I know my last one is my last one, IYKWIM. I know I will go around thinking "this is the last time I give birth, this is the last baby I nurse, this is the last time I wave a little one off to kindergarten..."

I want to cry now thinking of it! :(

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 05/01/2012 07:58

StealthPenguin - Grin Fabulous comeback.

And YANBU

DD is now 14 months and it still breaks my heart when I have to fold away beautiful clothes that she'll never wear again, or hasnt worn at all.

But you can def blame the hormones Wink

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 05/01/2012 08:00

I'm pretty sure the 'little shit' was tongue in cheek.

Heavens, some people will fixate on anything Hmm

StealthPenguin · 05/01/2012 08:00

Everything is hormones Wink

Although DP is perfectly happy blaming my antidepressants!

CheerfulYank That is how I am with my PLB at the moment. It feels like everything is a "last time", but I also know the joy hell ahead and I'm looking forward to getting my boobs back, pleeeeaaase! Smile

Christmasford · 05/01/2012 08:12

I feel your pain. Both my children are long and DS was in 12-18 months at 6 months old...dd seems better and slower and all her dresses from last summer are becoming tops for this summer Grin.

Are you crafty? Could you cut up bits of your fave ones and make him a quilt?

I was the same as dd was our last and when I finished bf it made me really sadSad. I still get sad when they outgrow clothes.....

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 05/01/2012 08:17

Arf at StealthPenguin.

Humour? Taken in the light hearted way it was meant? Don't be ridiculous.

Wink
melika · 05/01/2012 08:21

Tis sad but keep them for the next 6 kids you may have! (There's gotta be another boy) Wink

mumatron · 05/01/2012 08:21

i have 3 black bags of dd2's clothes stuffed in my wardrobe, but don't tell dp he thinks I'm nuts enough already

Please don't get me started on last babies. Dc 3 is definitely our last for now and it makes me so very sad :(

Moominsarescary · 05/01/2012 08:26

I had the opposit problem in the beginning ds was 8 weeks early and 4 lb 4 and seemed to be in prem clothes forever.

He's 10 months now and totally missed size 9-12 months. I put all his little things away at the weekend, I cried a little

4madboys · 05/01/2012 08:33

i am the same and dd is my 5th! i have a little stash of clothes that all 5 of mine have worn and some of dd's little outfits that i am keeping in a memory box :)

and umm i have at some point or another affectionately called all of my children a 'little shit' shoot me now Grin

catgirl1976 · 05/01/2012 08:37
