My PBF DS is 5-and-a-half months old. He's wonderful. But the little shit won't stop growing!

Seriously. He's in 9-12 clothes because of his weight and length. He's a bouncer just like his daddy!

Been putting off going through all of his clothes, and was finally strongarmed into it by MIL who said that she can't find anything in his wardrobe to fit him anymore.

Cue me bursting into tears and wanting him to shrink.

There are sooo many clothes that I can't bear the thought of him not wearing! His "I Love Milk" babygro with a cow pattern, his Tigger pyjamas, his soft winter-fleece baby-gro...

Wahhhhh!

Well now I'm starting to think I'm a little weird as I can't get rid of baby clothes fast enough! DS2 is definitely our last and the instant he grows out of something it's off to the charity shop or to friends with younger boys. Just got rid of the last 9-12 month stuff last week and it made me happy. Grin

I have kept a few special things though...

Eskarina · 05/01/2012 08:51

Dd is 4 months and its been hard to pack up the NB & 0-3 clothes, especially my favourite babygro, which I put on here when it was far far too big and was still trying to squish her into 3 months later cos she had 4 weeks when she didn't put weight on so I got in denial that she'd ever grow out of my favourites, then put on over a pound in a week and nothing fit any more. She's my first though so I am packing it all away for dc2. who will wear it all even if a DS

Snakeonaplane · 05/01/2012 08:54

Yanbu being unreasonable dd is 3 weeks old tomorrow and while very lovely she has gone and unfurled, her legs and arms have straightened out and she has lost the brand spanking newness, she is also putting on masses of weight fabulous of course but I will never have a brand spanking new baby again and the time is flying.

winnybella · 05/01/2012 08:56

I've got three bags full of D's baby clothes. DP said we should ebay them.

As if Hmm

StealthPenguin · 05/01/2012 08:59

To all the pedants.

What would you prefer I called my child? You have a choice:
a) Little shit
b) Little bastard
c) Little twat
d) Massive wanker.

Please send all answers on a piece of paper, addressed to NooneGivesAShit House, 666 North-Wankerland Avenue, GrowASenseOfHumour, Fuckwittage.

The postcode is P1SS 0FF.

ingoringthechildren (love your name btw!) i have been selling, charity shopping, given stuff to friends etc as dd is our 5th and last and i am quite glad to be getting rid of some stuff out of my house!! but there is still a pang of sadness, ie i just gave my sister my moby wrap (she had her first baby one xmas day!) and i feel a bit :( that i will never have a snuggly little newborn wrapped up in it :(

my boys were all big, ds4 10lb 13oz so he went straight into 3mths+ clothes, he was long as well, so in 6mths clothes by a month old pretty much! dd was only 8lb so i actually had to buy newborn stuff for her! and its all so tiny and wee and tho i am done and very glad to be moving on from the new baby stage (dd 12mths) i do still feel sad that i will never be doing it again.

luckily i am going to visit my sister this weekend and so shall squidge her two week old Grin

4madboys · 05/01/2012 09:02

my ds4 gets called arse bandit Grin

i get your humour!

LordOfTheFlies · 05/01/2012 09:08

Stealth in the Flies house we call Lemon Curd Lemon Turd (don't ask)

I asked DH "Where's the lemon turd"?
DS (who was about 3 IIRC) piped up "Here I am"!

WTAF was I calling him (little turd??)

PS I've put your address in my Sat-a-Nav.
Might drop by.

rogersmellyonthetelly · 05/01/2012 09:14

Yanbu, I have a memory box with both Dcs first vest/sleeper, baptism outfits, hospital bracelets, first shoes, first curl, first tooth. I open it every now and again and have a good weep. I'd like to blame the hormones but as youngest is 5.5 I don't think it would wash anymore.

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 05/01/2012 09:16

YADNBU. I've just packed away stuff that my oldest DD (18) wore and I've been squeezing my youngest DD into (2) for no reason other than I LOVE IT. I must confess to booing possibly definitely as I did it. I have kept out a couple of tiny things as can't bring myself to put them all away completely.

Also found stuff that DS was bought when he was born. He was born at 28 weeks and weighed 1lb 14oz - the clothes he had are too small even for DD3's dolls FFS, bring on more tears.

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 05/01/2012 09:17

....and Little Shit is a perfectly acceptable term, applicable to all children at some point or other.

kiasport · 05/01/2012 09:19

I often get you and stealthpolarbear mixed up. Have you too ever had 'the talk' about your names?

LordOfTheFlies · 05/01/2012 09:21

DS had a Winnie the Pooh sleep suit and short sleeved all-in-one that he wore when he came home from hospital.
DD wore it when she came home (I did buy her new clothes as well) Grin
I've got their first shoes and DS first jacket.

My mother still has a pair of my pants from when I was little. I don't think it's sentimental TBH, she just hoards everything.

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 05/01/2012 09:21

My pet name was 'shit house' when I was a kid, never did me no harm >

Moominsarescary · 05/01/2012 09:23

I'd like to refere to two of my children as little shits this morning, ds3 who woke up half an hour after I fell asleep last night and then kept me up until 3 this morning.

Also ds1 who is hardly little at 6"3 but who was responsible for waking up ds3

Maybe I should include ds2 for waking me up at 6.30

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 05/01/2012 09:23

Yanbu

It's normal to be sad and a little teary when packing away the gorgeous things your lo can't wear anymore.

Sort out your fave things and keep them. Everything else get rid of or pack separately for your next baby.

I also have a giant! In 9-12 clothes, got two teeth and weighs 24pound! He was 6 months old Tuesday!

I also blame my hormones when I'm emotional
Grin

OhDeeeeeryMe · 05/01/2012 09:34

No, yanbu my 10 week old is already in size 6-9 month baby clothes so I know exactly where you're coming from :(

kiasport · 05/01/2012 09:35

Moomins - my DD2 woke at 12:35 last night and didn't go back to sleep til 4. Would you care to rock in a corner with me?

CheerfulYank · 05/01/2012 09:41

I get "shit house" now because my surname is Brick. :o

Chandon · 05/01/2012 09:43

keep them for next baby?

mrspepperpotty · 05/01/2012 09:43

YANBU. My advice is NOT, as I did, to decide you aren't going to have another baby and then start going through the old tiny baby clothes you were keeping 'just in case' with the intention of getting rid of them. Wait until you are a few years down the line and DEFINITELY not having another one!

mrspepperpotty · 05/01/2012 09:45

Feeling quite good about only calling DS 'Trouble' now!

ElizabethPonsonby · 05/01/2012 09:45

Dd is nearly 5, I still have all her clothes from newborn. They have been loaned out and come back a few times!! I am now expecting dc2 in July, so was worth holding onto (obviously would help if this one is a girl too though Grin ).

She was only in her newborn stuff for about 2 weeks as she was 8lb10 when born and a very quick grower!

skrumle · 05/01/2012 09:46

i think you'll find that "wee shite" is less offensive than "little shit".
