to think that making sandwiches for packed lunches is the worst drudge job ever?

Making sandwiches at 6am is hateful.

We take it in turns on a rota (I make them for a week, then DP, then DD) because making our own lunch in the morning would be chaos as we are all out the house by just gone 7.

I can't be doing with making them the night before because they would be vile that way (imo).

I hate it. We have only in the last 6 months or so started doing it because we found that we were spending about £50 a week on lunches out.

I am half tempted just to buy a bag of apples and everyone can starve until dinner time.

I loathe this job so now I just do it once a month.

On the first shop after the monthly payday I buy enough bread and fillings to make a months worth of sarnies, which for 5 people is no mean feat! And I spend the evening making them up. DD1 usually wants to help so between us we fill about 5 million sandwiches, I cut them, she puts them in the bags (the bit I hate most!) then we bung them in the freezer.

Every morning I just grab 5 lots of sarnies and put them in the appropriate lunch bag. They keep the lunch box cool and are defrosted by lunchtime. Job done! And no, I dont care if they dont taste as nice as fresh made because a) no one has complained since I started doing this and b) I aint eating them so who gives a fuck :o

What's all the fuss about? I only have 1 DC, so is this why I can't see it's such a pain? It takes me a couple of minutes the night before, while making dinner. I give him a choice of 2 or 3 fillings, make it, stick in a sandwich bag, and in the fridge. I would hate to do it in the morning, as we get up as late as possible. I usually don't even comb my hair, let alone have a shower!
My worst drudge job is unloading the dishwasher. I hate that with a passion!

It takes me five minutes to put together packed lunches for those eating out. So I dunno what you're doing differently, it's not a drudge here. YABU.

Folding and putting away washing is the worst drudge job ever. FACT!
