the idea was to go out for the day, have a mooch around and lunch (an hours drive away).
Anyway. Look at the weather! DD2 is flipping out over school tomorrow and something flapped and banged all sodding night so i am now even more sleep deprived than i was. apart from the severe weather warnings the biggist of these is DD2 and school.
So I don't want to go. But it is DMs birthday. DamnAndBlast.

Look at it FFS! DM was surprised I didn't want to drive an hour (in the gale) for lucnch (which I won't be able to eat) with DD2 (who is freaking out about school) Confused

Wil it actually make anyone any more miserable than they already are?

A change of scene might help a bit (though an hour away is a bit far. Last-minute change of venue?).

Tell her you accidentally poured wine instead of juice at breakfast and are over the limit Grin then go back to bed.

TotemPole · 03/01/2012 10:55

An hours drive, then lunch, then an hours drive back. I wouldn't fancy that. I don't want to go out today at all. It's horrible out there.

redstormrising · 03/01/2012 11:23

I am well named today. :)

I was also due to go out for lunch - not quite an hour away, but with my SIL who is a little sensitive and willing to see slights even when none are intended.

I Blush told her I had food poisoning rom our takeaway yesterday - and have rescheduled for the weekend.

any chance you can do that?

redstormrising · 03/01/2012 11:27

[edited to add] I am not a complete bitch. I DO have cramps and ... ahem loose bowels. But, she was after a trip to the local garden centre and sandwiches and I cannot face it. Not least b/c our neighbour's roof has blown off! (So windy)

jubilee10 · 03/01/2012 11:28

I would reschedule. If the weather is as bad as you say then there may be trees down and driving will most unpleasant. I would stay at home. Dm will understand. It's dry and cold with no wind here, but I expect it's on it's way!

ReduceRecycleRegift · 03/01/2012 11:29

YANBU I opted out of a much shorter trip today and have less excuses! stay in and have storm day Grin

Crapricorn · 03/01/2012 11:34

Awww poor Mum! It is my birthday today too and it is a crap day for a birthday. Everyone always finds an excuse to cry off - bad weather or no cash or back to school.
Go and see her PLEASE!

AtYourCervix · 03/01/2012 12:26

We're doing lunch locally instead. phew. had visions of me aquaplaning in my little plastic car and being squashed by a juggernaught.

Happpy Birthday Crapricorn. Would you like me to sing?
