To book into the hotel down the road for one night on my own?

Alone? DH has a broken limb and is acting like he is completely crippled...he can walk on crutches....one DD has had a terrible cough and temp over the season...now clearing up well...the other is ok....I on the other hand feel like frigging lackey.

One calls me and the other wants me too....get this, can I have that...I wANT i Want! DH has become incapable of making a coffee or any food...he sits in front of his comp all day asking me what's for lunch/dinner/ snack and can we have a shag later..... Confused How can he do the deed if he can't make crackers and cheese????

I'm going nuts! They all went to bed at 7 tonight and I was thrilled...then just now DH BANGED HIS CRUTCH ON THE FLOOR to get me upstairs.

Angry

I went up and he said "Can you turn the porch light off....its coming in the window."

I think that on Monday...I may book into the hotel down the road...one night only...and not say anything until after I am gone...then come back the next day...dh can get around..he's just slow....or is that mean? He'd be alone with them overnight basially....I wouldn't check in until they had gone to bed....I am just tired.

Or shall I just hide his crutches for an hour or two?

Do it, but you should tell your DH in advance, otherwise he would be justified in coming on here and moaning about his U wife!

OldLadyKnowsSantaClaus · 01/01/2012 20:12

Hiding his crutches won't help you any. Do the hotel thing.

DaydreamingOfAWhiteXmasDolly · 01/01/2012 20:12

LadyBeckenham · 01/01/2012 20:13

Do it. My Mum used to every now and again.

Although as an adult, and with the benefit of hindsight, I wonder if she was having an affair....

Sorry - not much help!

BandOMothers · 01/01/2012 20:14

I will leave a supply of food which requires no cooking...salad, ham, etc....fresh bread and all that....I may not hide his crutches.

Sounds blissful.

HandMini · 01/01/2012 20:14

The hotel I mean, not your current situation, which sucks.

ashamednamechanger · 01/01/2012 20:16

Go for it OP.
Iv'e got a DH exactly the same....it's a wonder he hasn't developed bed sores with the amount of time he lies on that bloody sofa.
Go to the hotel and leave him to it. wish I could afford to do the same....a whole night without someone wanting me to do this, that o the other, bliss.
BTW how on earth did you manage to get your DCs to bed at 7?

BandOMothers · 01/01/2012 20:23

Well I can't afford it really but arses to that.

ashamed I just make them go! Grin the older one reads for a while and the youngest is 3 and gets tired...storytme means she goes off at about 7.30

YANBU. I was on crutches after a break and had my 2 year old (at the time) to look after. Im not being a martyr by any stretch, just that I know its possible.

And your idea, sounda brilliant. Ive been thinking the same recently. I cant (bf) but I totally would if I could.

DO IT!!!!

MrsMcEnroe · 04/01/2012 13:42

OP have you done it yet??

Rezolution · 04/01/2012 13:48

OP I must admit I feel your pain and it struck a chord here.
So sorry for your situation and yet..
Dare I ask?
How is your DH managing IT? Xmas Blush

FannyPriceless · 04/01/2012 13:49

I have done this! But it was planned, and DH was in agreement that I deserved a break. It was lovely.

Don't know what the hotel made of it, though. I think they may have thought I was a hotel reviewer as they were very nice to me!

PavlovtheCat · 04/01/2012 13:52

BoM is that YOU?! where you been ? and yes, hotel...do it. I often wish for this. and may well do it next month, i so so so need it!

BandOMothers · 04/01/2012 16:17
