To expect my husband not to get absolutely shit faced every time he goes out for a drink...

He cannot just have a few he will literally drink until he passes out. We are in our early 30's and I have been there and done that in my teens early 20's and now know my limit. We went to a house party last night with the kiddies and he promised he wouldn't get too drunk. 13 shots later and god those how many cans he could barely walk or talk and when I had a go at him to get to bed (he was trying to help with the kids but could barely stand) he called me a bitch!!! He turns really nasty as he doesn't even realise he is drunk so doesn't like it if you tell anything.

Yes, he should know better especially if with your dc.

Next time, record his behaviour and show him when he is sober. Worked for my DH Grin

Film him on your mobile and make him watch it when he's sober. Then he'll see what a mess he turns in to after too many. Can't he control the amount for the kids sake at the least? Can't be very nice for them seeing their dad all over the place!

X post, great minds!

I had one of those. I divorced him since it became ever more obvious that his family came an extremely poor second to the drink.
