to give up my NY efforts already and have a nap instead?

I'm supposed to be gaily blitzing the DC's room about now, and properly finding homes for new toys. Then preparing a nutritious dinner before going out for a run.

In fact I am exhausted having been up much of the night with various children and animals. DH is in bed because he was working all night.

I could put DD down for a nap shortly, which will mean respite from the constant climbing/wrecking, but I am tempted to stick a DVD on for DS and then pass out on the sofa instead of getting on with useful stuff. NY can start tomorrow, yeah?

I've given up on this NY already - going to shoot for the Chinese New Year instead. It will all start then. Promise.

That is truly inspired, great idea!

I will run today but the rest is in the balance.

Make it the year where you please yourself a little. If having a tidy house fits the bill, do it. If you need more sleep after a disturbed night, do that!

Don't you know New Years Resolutions start on the 2nd?

Why start a fresh start hungover/shattered/on a massive slump from last night's festivities?

There's a damn good reason why NYD is a holiday! Be gentle with yourself. :)

I'm in Scotland, tomorrow's a holiday too here! I'll be working though.

Anyway, I just woke up after over an hour asleep. Bliss!

Thinking about a nap on the sofa too.....
Zzzz.......

Oh am a little jealous - could do with tomorrow being a holiday too. Actually I'll tweak that, could do with tomorrow being a holiday for me but not for the kids

PrimaBallerina · 01/01/2012 13:04

NY definitely doesn't start until 2nd or whichever Scottish/Chinese variation you prefer.

We're having a meat and booze free January but there is the big, boozy New Year's Day roast to do first. It would just be rude not to.

I thought tomorrow was a bank holiday in England/Wales, too, becuase today is Sunday? I'm not working anyway, but that's what I thought...

tribpot · 01/01/2012 14:59

Yes, tomorrow's a bank holiday in England tomorrow. Tuesday's a bank holiday but only in Scotland.

No bank holiday here :( (Denmark)
