It's NYE

Her new bike broke, literally an hour after we got home the gears failed, the new bike won't be ready til tomorrow

Her big sis is on a sleepover at her friend's house

We had a healthy lunch

She asked me really nicely

It would make very little mess

Mars bar and apple in the same sandwich?

changingnicknameforxmas · 31/12/2011 17:41

Yes

It's actually really nice (my nan used to make them for me) Blush

It sounds disgusting but YANBU to have a treat.
We had hotdogs. We had a nice lunch, not exactly healthy but as the next weeks dinners are full of meat and veg I enjoyed not having to try hard today! Grin

YANBU - sounds like she deserves a treat!

However, a Mars Bar, marshmallow and banana toasted sandwich is clearly far superior Xmas Wink

BlueFergie · 31/12/2011 17:45

Mars bar and apple sandwiches? I am so going to have to try this. My nana used to make us sugar sandwiches. Delicious. YANBU btw she defo needs to be treated.

ShirleyKnotChristmas · 31/12/2011 17:45

Tell me more of this sandwich please. Do you slice the apples? Is there butter in there? Mars bar warm or cold?

changingnicknameforxmas · 31/12/2011 17:45

lifeis that sounds yummee we may have to try that Xmas Wink

Did I mention that it's one of her five a day Xmas Grin

Do it, I once made my DD jam and beans on toast as that's what she asked for.

She ate it. DH was mortified!

nickelhadababyYesLord · 31/12/2011 17:46

it does sound gross, but I'm quite intrigued.
Now I want to try one.

Let her have it - it's not like she eats that sandwixh every day of the year!
treats like this are what prevent eating disorders later in life (but she might have odd tastes.... Wink )

gothicangel · 31/12/2011 17:47

hell no!

yanbu, make her one and give her a hug,

can i have one too? :) xx

changingnicknameforxmas · 31/12/2011 17:48

Cheap white loaf (no wholegrain in these sarnies - we had to buy the loaf this afternoon Blush )

Butter

Apples - sliced fine

Mars Bar - also sliced fine

That's it.

Wonder how nice it would be toasted ? channels lifeisabuttercream

oh and we need the recpie, :)

ShirleyKnotChristmas · 31/12/2011 17:50

I SO WANT ONE.

LifeIsButtercream · 31/12/2011 17:51

Great now I want a Mars BananaMallow Melt Xmas Shock

A word of warning though - clean the toasted sandwich maker really well after making this sandwich - and definitely before you make any kind of savoury toasty!

I don't fancy them myself but YANBU at all. No one died from eating a rubbish tea but lots of lovely Mummy & DD times came from it. Smile

FairToMiddlin · 31/12/2011 17:58

YANBU.

If you can't have mars bar and apple sandwiches under those circumstances - then when can you??

changingnicknameforxmas · 31/12/2011 18:00

DD is now happily munching and so am I

In my defence, I don't generally do this (she's 9) Xmas Blush

Sounds lovely - and reckon it would be amazing toasted!

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 31/12/2011 19:20

If you are having a glass of anything tonight a marsbar and apple sandwhich is not in the slightest bit naughty. It has apple, that is healthy isn't it?

WhiteTrash · 31/12/2011 19:29

YANBU. But our 'naughty but nice' dinners are ice cream, marshmallows and melted chocolate pankcakes. Oh yes.

Rhubarbgarden · 31/12/2011 19:30

Yum. I want one.

RainboweBrite · 31/12/2011 19:38

Me too please!
