Here (taken for a dating site troll)

OP posts:
ChickenLickn · 31/12/2011 15:03

the guy is a sad sack and the pictures are not good.

He's done rather a lot of them, which makes him seem even sadder.

kingbeat23 · 31/12/2011 15:04

The reactions and comments between him and the girls he messages just give you an idea of the type of person he is. Really not funny, I like inappropriate humour sometimes, but this isn't inappropriate just unfunny, cruel and many ist words that I can think of.

Whoever it was talking about putting thier pictures up on POF was linking it to the public domain was sadly quite wrong. I'm sure that these women did not intend for it to be linked to a website where he belittles them and then posts the responses for all to see, not just a joke that goes too far between him and the person he is doing this with but a way to incite cruelty.

EauDeLaPoisson · 31/12/2011 15:11

Its like something a 12 year old schoolboy would do-im at a loss why people think its 'hilarious' 'genius' or even 'brilliant' but then it helps to realise what kind of people i'd like nowt to do with.

aleene · 31/12/2011 15:13

Well said Kingbeat. mean and cruel.

I would be disgusted to get a picture or a message from this person - did you get as far as seeing the message he wrote for someone saying he was thinking about whether to give them a second chance because they didn't like his artwork and told them to stop messing up - and that feeling would be multiplied by a hundred at finding it on a website for people to laugh at.

picnicbasketcase · 31/12/2011 15:14

I found the pictures funny initially, but then felt uncomfortable about the idea of how hurt the women must have been when they saw them, caricatures can be quite mean. It is a bit like witnessing someone slip over on some ice or something. First instinct is to snigger but then empathy kicks in, IYSWIM Hmm

ChooChooWowWow · 31/12/2011 15:19

What a nasty, cruel prat. Clearly he doesn't like woman. Probably got a very small dick.

slavetofilofax · 31/12/2011 15:19

I don't think it's funny, especially the racist bits.

But some of those (real) pictures are very unattractive. Who in their right mind would post picture of themselves like that on a dating website? Kind of asking for it really.

ThatsNotSantasBabyBelly · 31/12/2011 15:22

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder slave

EauDeLaPoisson · 31/12/2011 15:23

Some people are not very attractive- should they go round with a bag on their head or sell themselves to a freak show because after all if they go round looking like that they deserve ridicule- right?

IvantaOuiOui · 31/12/2011 15:23

reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite, but mean.

Rudawakening · 31/12/2011 15:27

For those saying about it being all women he is drawing, if you read the rest of the pistonheads thread you will see he does the same with men as well.

alistron1 · 31/12/2011 15:30

It would be funny if they were just badly drawn pictures, but they are just cruel.

slavetofilofax · 31/12/2011 15:31

Of course not, and I agree absolutely that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That's the wonderful thing about beauty.

But whether you were someone attractive to most or someone attractive to few, you would still put a good picture of yourself up surely? I don't believe that some of those pictures really portrayed the women in their best light, that's all.

I think it's more cruel to the women who have put a nice picture up, because they are genuinely nice pictures that someone is talking the piss out of.

And the more I think about the one of the black girl, the more annoyed i am at it. Racism is vile.

But I don't think it's misogynistic. I expect the guy that did the drawings is desperate for a woman in his life and likes them very much.

ShellyBoobs · 31/12/2011 15:31

I like the scribbled blonde/yellow hair one and the girl drawn with the fan beside her creating the hairstyle in her photo.

Really not liking the drawing of the black girl, though; it's not in the least bit funny. Unless you're Jim Davidson or Bernard Manning, maybe...

kingbeat23 · 31/12/2011 15:32

Oh well, then in that case rude it's alright then, as long as he is belittling men and women and making them feel utterly shit about how they look and making stupid remarks even a 12 year old boy wouldn't find funny, that makes it fine then. The blacking out of the woman is totally fine now it's men he's ridiculing as well. Asking a woman to stick a finger up her arse is totally fine now it's to men he's doing this as well.... Hmm

TapirBackRidersJinglyBells · 31/12/2011 15:34

So....if you discovered that the 'troller/artist' in question here was your dh/dp, exactly how happy would you be that he was posting images such as these to potentially vulnerable women on dating websites?

The pictures are nasty, cruel, and some can be taken as racist. What do you really think that says about the person posting them? And then what does it say about the people that find them funny???

slavetofilofax · 31/12/2011 15:36

I like the scribbled blonde one for the curly haired girl too. That would be me!

EmmaBemma · 31/12/2011 15:39

Cruel. I think a lot of the intended humour is in the fact that the women were shown these caricatures of themselves. They'd taken time to choose what they thought was a flattering photo, they'd made themselves vulnerable by putting it online for strangers to assess, and one such stranger, appearing to be kind, then confronts them with this grotesque distortion. At the very least, that's got to ruin your day - but for someone with low self esteem, or who has issues with depression, I can see it having a very bad effect indeed.

BloodyWedding · 31/12/2011 15:48

really nasty, might have taken the women weeks/months/years to get up the courage to go on a dating site and then they receive this? Nice.

Casual cruelty is always so funny isn't it?

dearprudence · 31/12/2011 15:57

If I was one of these women and received the picture, I might think Hmm or I might even find it faintly amusing if it was one of the less cruel pictures - assuming I didn't realise he was doing this to loads of women.

But some of them are downright hateful - and racist, of course - and making them public and putting them up with the original photos for public ridicule is fucking disgraceful.

Feminine · 31/12/2011 15:57

He was being mean.

But caricatures are never flattering are they?

If he had used a stunningly beautiful woman, he would have made the same unflattering scribbles...

When you expose yourself you should be aware of how the internet works...my 13 year old soneven knows that.

Trolls pop up everywhere.

EmmaBemma · 31/12/2011 16:09

Your argument is worryingly close to "she was asking for it", Feminine. It is a risk to put a picture of yourself on a dating site, sure, but taking that risk doesn't mean these women deserve to be insulted.

Caricatures are usually consented to, either implicitly (in the case of famous people) or explicitly (in the case of someone sitting for a caricaturist at a function).

FourThousandHoles · 31/12/2011 16:11

Yuck

Mysoginist and racist and just not funny

My biggest issue with this is that none of these women have asked to be caracatured, they've just been picked on seemingly randomly.

However, even if they had asked to be drawn, some of those pictures are just cruel and unneccessary.

Feminine · 31/12/2011 16:15

Not "worryingly" close.

You are spot on.

Every time we talk or post pictures on -line we are taking a risk.

Just because these women were looking for love does not make them immune. It makes them vulnerable, he was wrong and I didn't like the racist depiction or the eye one.

I have spent years educating my eldest child on the perils of the internet, some adults need to do that too for their own protection

fridakahlo · 31/12/2011 16:16

We have a name for people like this where I come from, bullying wanker.
Also taken in the wider context of a society that is very based around judgding people, esp women, on their looks, then imo, this stops being cruel and borders on evil.
Not funny at allm
