Had op lump removed ten days ago. Called today to go to hosp next week. Wouldn't tell me why. It can only be one thing right?

Oh OP, so sorry but so glad it's been caught early and that you have support.

Hope everything goes well for you x

holstenlips · 07/01/2012 22:42

I'm so sorry to hear about your news but I think you attitude is wonderful, Keep positive. It's only natural you want to reassure you loved ones but be kind to yourself and please remember that here on MN we might all be strangers behind a computer screen but it can be a really supportive place.

Keep posting if you need any kind of support or advise.

TartyMcFarty · 07/01/2012 22:50

Missed this thread until now OP, but just wanted to send you and your DS my best wishes.

youarekidding · 07/01/2012 22:51

Oh sorry, wasn't trying to second guess or be nosy as to what cancer you have. Was just using my friends situation to relate it to your concerns. Blush

holstenlips · 07/01/2012 22:54

Thanks, I will most likely post here on Monday howling after an awful day at work! Should I tell DD school (she is 4)

OP posts:
holstenlips · 07/01/2012 22:57

That's ok I didn't take it as such.

BupcakesandCunting · 07/01/2012 22:59

My lovely. I know nothing of what you've been through BUT I am fairly sure that cancer is a priority and if you did have cancer, you would be wanted back before a week. I say this because of the cancer patient's charter which says that you must be recalled for urgent treatment within 48 hours of cancer being found (I think I have got that right...)

Totally understand why you are worried but try not to be. I can always come and do "Easy Lover" on your karaoke, should you need a laugh. Grin

HowlingBitch · 07/01/2012 23:02

I think that would be a good idea, Get as much support as you can right now and I'm sure they will try to help in anyway they can.

We will be here for you on Monday. :)

BupcakesandCunting · 07/01/2012 23:03

Oh shit. Sorry, I didn't see that you wrote your OP a week ago!

Still, you have been caught early which is good news. The fact that you weren't recalled sooner is a good sign, I think? Please keep us updated. xxx

sofadweller · 07/01/2012 23:03

Glad to hear they have caught this early and the outlook sounds very positive.
All the best to you.

HowlingBitch · 07/01/2012 23:04

BupcakesandCunting · 07/01/2012 23:06

Grin at Howling.

I do agree, though. We are words on a screen but we are ready to support in any way we can, moral or practical.

EauDeLaPoisson · 07/01/2012 23:06

Sorry to hear your news. My friend last year was diagnosed with mouth cancer, caught early she's now fine nothing at all showing on MRI scan

holstenlips · 07/01/2012 23:08

Cool, thanks. I might just get doc to sign me off a week, will see how it goes.

At this hour?! Good god woman!

holstenlips · 07/01/2012 23:32

Plus I have insomnia, can't sleep last few weeks since last operation.

OP posts:
holstenlips · 07/01/2012 23:33

I will go to bed soon!

OP posts:
Kayano · 07/01/2012 23:35

Grin I have trouble sleeping too. But I tend to pass the time in AIBU rather than do ... You know, actual practical things Blush

HowlingBitch · 07/01/2012 23:37

Insomnia isn't great but I'm guessing it is to be expected right now. As long as you rest (put your feet up with a cup of tea for a few hour etc).

I have always been the odd kind of person to find unpacking fun. How do you like your new home?

HowlingBitch · 07/01/2012 23:38

Hours* Doh.
