It has already gone a bit tits-up as i suddenly realised my car tax needed doing so had to get dressed and go to the post office, which was a bit of a swerve from The Plan but I have managed to pick it up and it appears to be back on track.

So I am back in bed.

I have Maltesers
I have my Kindle and a £10 amazon voucher
I have a laptop
I have Downton Boxset
I have Torchwood Boxset
I have children capable of boiling the kettle and being ignored for the rest of the day.

I also have a John Barrowman CD but I listened to that in the car yesterday and it was unutterably dire.

have I forgotten anything?

Sounds like my perfect day. You seem to have forgotten me though. It's ok. I shall find my own way and gatecrash.

CroissantNeuf · 30/12/2011 11:43

The only thing you've forgotten is a big "Sod off and do not disturb" sign for the door just in case those pesky kids forget that you are to be left alone!

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 30/12/2011 11:44

YABU to continue to watch Torchwood. Tis shit.

Apart from that it all sounds ideal. Xmas Grin

Enjoy.

And both out cars need taxing too - online is the way forward, saves having to go to the post office. Wink

TheProvincialLady · 30/12/2011 11:46

Sounds similar to my day. I did get up this morning after 4 days in bed with tonsillitis, but now I am worn out and have gone back to bed again with my laptop, kindle, some chocolates, a diet coke, a cheese and onion marmalade toastie made by DH and the last episode of South Riding (an historical drama I got on DVD for Christmas). Tis bliss.

Why are you in bed?

CarolCervix · 30/12/2011 11:46

I can't tell the DDs to sod off. DD2 is curently making me a cup of tea.

The left side of the bed is free for anyone who wants to join me. bring chocolate.

I will find out in an hour whether I need to go in to work or not (depends on other people going off sick). If i don't need to go in I may crack open the Cava.

GreatExpectations2012 · 30/12/2011 12:00

Beyond jealous! I told everyone who would listen that I would love the Downton box set and amazon vouchers for Christmas. Didn't get either (although lots of lovely other things).

CarolCervix · 30/12/2011 12:08

BellaVita · 30/12/2011 12:28

Downton Abbey YES!!! Torchwood NO!!! Shock

It would disturb me slightly a dog being in the bed... only cos I don't do animal hairs and such or crumbs etc (well only my crumbs) Grin

CarolCervix · 30/12/2011 12:35

torchwood is brilliant (at least the early ones - not the shite american last one).

the dog is small and smooth and shiney and doesn't shed much. and is better than a hot water bottle as he doesn't get cold.

Sounds idyllicSmile

So far today i have pissed in a pot, at the doctors request, and talked to a woman in the chemist who had breath that could strip varnish, so i had to keep opening the door, pretending i was hot (in december?) so as to get rid of her halitosis issues.

Hope you are having a fab day!

CarolCervix · 30/12/2011 13:29

i'm just having a little snackette of crackers, cheese, hummus, carrot and apple.

i needed the carrot and apple as i thought i was coming down with scurvy.
