Person who shall remain nameless had me Angry.

Dd4 (asd) had caught nits. I found it in time and it has been treated and cleared , and has not spread to any of the other children.

Phoned around everyone who has been in recent contact with dd4 to inform them , and ask them to do head checks on their children ( and themselves) .
Have even offered to buy them treatments if they need it.
Most people were very nice about it actually .

Except one nutter who told us that it's ok ,as she washes her ds with voseene shampoo , but she doesn't really care as all kids have nits anyway .

No wonder nits keep doing the rounds if thats the attitude of some parents .

It's not hard to run a bone comb through when your bathing the dcs is it ?
Am I bu ?

Have just found this thread. DS1 has his 1st case of headlice. He's nearly 6. I was sort of hoping he was immune as I do the weekly check and he's always been clear. until now. Treated them with a spray then conditioner and comb thru after, bedding changed (hot wash). More found tonight. Repeated last nights efforts. How long will it take to get rid of them? DS2 if clear so far, as are dh and I but we treated all of us last night just in case. I feel so sorry for those of you who suffer the hell of this on a regular basis. I am already thinking that it is a good idea to just shave it all off. myself included! grrrr

Disclaimer- I DO NOT recommended this as a treatment.

I have a friend who is vet. He uses Frontline on his children to keep away nits. Apparently it was very effective. Grin

morecoffeee the little bastuds have a 21 day life cycle but it can take 3 days for crawlers to mature. I woukld comb daily for a week then when you THINK you are clear do it at least every 3 days until you are sure they're all gone.

P....I....T.....A..... one of gods more useless creations along with mosquitos & tapeworm.Grin
