I'm happy.

Some people are ungrateful but some have truly shit Christmases. I don't normally call people on being judgey but will this time.

Toobluntforsleighbells · 27/12/2011 11:32

I'm happy too!

namechangerbat · 27/12/2011 11:33

There was a lot of pressure on DP and I to please his parents an my parents this year which meant we had to see both sets on christmasday which was a tad hectic. YANBU I'm glad it's over an done with.

ViviPrudolf · 27/12/2011 11:35

I'm happy as larry. Whoever he may be.

Knocked Xmas with the PiLs on the head a few years back, now we just please ourselves chez Pru eating and doing whatever we like and invite over people whose company we enjoy. Between country dog walks, I've mostly been cramming cheese in my mouth while rinsing the tv hard drive of all the stuff we've not had time to watch over the last few months. Bliss.

VP's 3 Tips for Christmas Success:
A Pinterest wishlist = no more ropey gifts
A dishwasher - natch
No obligatory spending time with people who get on your tits (this is easier than you all think)

It really is that simple.

Depends who you mean by we.

If that's you and your family then fair enough, maybe you are never happy at this time of year. If so, maybe you are doing something wrong.

Personally I'm happy right now, so if by "we" you include me then YABU.

witch000 · 27/12/2011 11:49

I'm Happy ,we stay at home for Christmas and do what WE LIKE.

ViviPrudolf · 27/12/2011 11:52

Well there you go - thanks Winkly. Every day's a school day, eh?

scuzy · 27/12/2011 14:51

oh i had a very happy xmas ... but reading some threads (other than exceptionally shitty xmas) trivial things seem to upset most mums at xmas. whether its the pressure and expecting alot in return after doing so much yourself or what i dont know

I'm happy, the kids are happy, no school run, plenty of picky food, plenty of drink....what's not to like?

phyllisdiller · 27/12/2011 15:27

People probably should just be grateful for what they have but sometimes Christmas hi-lights some of the things that they don't have. That's how it works for me anyway. I'm not a bit fan of Christmas I must admit.

goldbow · 27/12/2011 16:27

I'm happy but wish this bloody chest infection would jog on Grin

Kellogg · 27/12/2011 16:31

i feel pretty low, depressed and 'flat'. Can't put finger on one particular thing but....back to work today after 2 days off and just that feeling of, 'was that it'...& my customers talking about their great Christmases. All the pressure and expectations just for one day...that, for me, ended up just like any other day really but with a few cheap presents thrown in (we're skint) (was just me and DP, eating off our laps, his ex wouldn't 'release' their son to us even though it was our turn this year) all a bit bleurghhhh really... All that money spent to really..not have a very special day. Yes i know it's what you make it and all that...but certain things were against us this year.
Everyone's Facebooks seem to be full of the 'picture perfect' Christmases...
I know, I know...stay away from Facebook!
