to NOT want to hear that the world is about to end...?

I hate disaster movies, and I hate conspiracy theories. I always think they could be real, and spend far too much time worrying about them!

So AIBU to just want everyone to shut up about how we won't be here this time next year? I have two lovely DDs, I do not want the world to end!

Sad and Angry at everyone who keeps trying to scare me vulnerable people!

I must live with my head in a bucket as I had no idea there where any 'The end is nigh' theories about. How could people possibly be able to predict that?

pookamoo · 23/12/2011 23:44

Good. that's what I want to hear, hellhasnofury ! Grin

(There are loads, but I am sure it has all happened before)

The people who say that are very, very, very bored.

Just shout 'Ha!' whenever it's mentioned. Or indeed whenever something ludicrous is said.

Pandemoniaa · 23/12/2011 23:44

Is the end nigh? Nobody told me and I've just synced my bloody calendar too. What a waste.

WorraLiberty · 23/12/2011 23:45

God you should hear my 12yr old son going on about this Lol

He's not worried about it...as he says 'If we die it's not like we're actually going to be bothered when we're gone'

But he's really into the debate side of it and he does my nut in Xmas Grin

Like I keep telling him...in all my 42 years there's always been someone somewhere proclaiming we're all going to die on a certain date

Moominsarescary · 23/12/2011 23:45

What, the world is going to end next year? Are the zombies coming?

cheesesarnie · 23/12/2011 23:45

didnt it end the other day?

if it ends it ends ce la vie....or not

pookamoo · 23/12/2011 23:48

This is all good...

I actually have a book about it (given to me, I didn't buy it). It opens with the authour/predictor bloke explaining that his last predictions (that the world was going to end) failed so he was writing this new book with new predictions.

Poor bugger. He just wanted a publishing deal and all of the good plot lines had been taken.

Hard to take it seriously.

I was also given some detailed notes while I was on Glastonbury Tor about how the world is NOT going to end, we'll all be FINE and Jeff Buckley is going to return as the new Jesus (which apparantly is good). Honestly, I have the picece of paper in my dining room - I've held onto it for years.

StealthPolarBear · 23/12/2011 23:58

Well they said this last year. Twice in fact. If it did we can still MN, so fine so far.

CuriousMama · 23/12/2011 23:59

It's ended so many times already hasn't it? Apparently it won't end until the bridge at Knaresborough collapses for a 3rd time. It's collapsed twice. Mother Shipton said and she should know. Xmas Wink

pookamoo · 24/12/2011 00:00

ha ha queenofwands I love Glastonbury, full of crazy interesting people!

Yeah...my diet didn't go so well last year, remind me to keep off the knaresborough bridge

theincredibequeenofwands · 24/12/2011 00:03

I live near Glastonbury, often get given weird things. That was my favourite though.

I hadn't even heard of Jeff Buckley until that day, now I SWEAR that his name comes up all of the time, I see his name written everywhere, hear his songs everywhere, friends randomly chat about him and I recently found out that we share a birthday.

Weird!!

FaverollesWithBoughsOfHolly · 24/12/2011 00:04

CuriousMama - Mother Shipton also said the world would end in 1984, and as an 8 yo who was terrified for most of that year, I can honestly say she was talking bollocks :)

If/when the bridge collapses, it'll be the end of the world for whoever is standing on it :o

CuriousMama · 24/12/2011 00:14

Maybe we should all go and bounce on it after eating lots of cake? Grin

Morloth · 24/12/2011 01:00

The world had better not bloody end next year, Part One of the Hobbit is out on 14/12/12. The world has my permission to end the following year after Part Two has been released and I have seen it however, that would be fine.

StealthPolarBear · 24/12/2011 01:08

i hope they get through all of the walking dead as well

Feminine · 24/12/2011 01:19

My mother (due to her religious convictions) has been threatening the end of the world for years

My nephew (who is also being raised in the same religion) is bent out of shape for the safety of his Mom. Poor love was kicked out of the organization for something beyond her control.

Its dreadful.

TwelveGaysOfChristmas · 24/12/2011 07:40

Morloth - great minds think alike! Xmas Grin
