To actually be having a really nice Christmas with my in-laws?

So we have my mum, DSis 1 + BIL, DSis 2, dog, and PILs over for Christmas. Some people are sleeping on the floor because we don't have that much space, PILs are both ill with a chesty cough, and we don't have masses of money to spend on presents. Recipe for disaster, eh....

Yet in spite of this, no one has rowed or made pointed comments, the dog hasn't eaten anything or anybody she shouldn't, no one has bought anyone an Unspeakably Horrible Gift, the decorations have not spontaneously combusted, and everyone is generally mucking in baking and organising the fridge and chatting.

Reading just about every other thread on here, AIBU to think I am possibly the only person in the UK having a nice time? Flame me for being a smug bitch Xmas Grin

YABU. You are smug - it's not even Christmas Eve yet.

My family have managed to fall out before they even get here. Brilliant.

Ah now see, they're leaving on the 27th as I have to go back to work. And today I have to work as well (as you can see Wink) and they are amusing themselves like reasonable adults. Who knew it was possible, eh.

YANBU.

I have arranged things so that we can see both sets of in laws on Christmas Day. I'm very much looking forward to seeing my in laws because they're lovely!

I should add that my PILs ate also lovely and we were disappointed they couldn't come to stay at our place for Christmas, so it's nice to hear your story!

NoobyNoob · 23/12/2011 13:57

YANBU at all. I hope you all have a lovely time :)

I too love it when my PIL come over from France, though they're not here this year, they'll be here in Jan once my DD is born, along with my SIL and her husband for a belated Christmas day!
