I am guilty of this massively at the moment so I put my hands up to it but hope it's only a phase (or I am doomed).
But how do other posters manage to be so active/prolific on here and still do parenting/RL? Are there not DPs/DCs looking over your shoulder wondering why you're spending so much time here? Are there ANY pressies being wrapped/turkeys getting stuffed at all?
Or have your families just given up on you and see this husk of a former mother tapping away at the computer... (typing each other to death, hah! No it isn't me btw).
Or do you do it on your phone thingies and so it just looks like texting/working out xmas budget on shopping app?

playing

VivaLeBeaver · 23/12/2011 12:18

I pop on and off throughout the day - so while it may look like I'm posting all day I'm not on here that much. I pop on for ten minutes, wander off do stuff for an hour then pop back for 5 mins. And I MN in bed at night on ipad rather than watch TV. Plus DD is older and independent.

loopylou6 · 23/12/2011 12:24

I tie my kids up and stick em under the stairs and chuck a few bits of bread in every now and then. I tie the broom to my dogs tail and wrap dusters onto his feet and that's how the cleaning gets done Grin

none of the above is actually true BTW just saying like

nicknamenotinuse · 23/12/2011 12:53

BF'ing whilst mumnetting her too. What else would I do, watch crap tv. No thanks.

MulleredWine · 23/12/2011 14:10

I don't have DCs, frees up a lot of time for mning!

Really, really must stop reading 20 page threads in relationships when I have 3 hours to pack for 4 days away, pick up dry cleaning, finish making fucking special biscuits that I promised MIL, buy presents for 2 more people and wrap them.

I also need to shower and get dressed first Blush

I know it's possible because I have much experience in last minute post-procrastination panic (howzat for alliteration?!)

Meglet · 23/12/2011 14:13

phone. I can look at it while waiting for things to cook / having a 5 min sit down.

Kayano · 23/12/2011 14:15

Phone and no children yet, and hol and mat leave lol

PrincessScrumpy · 23/12/2011 14:18

dtds asleep, dd1 playing in her room. I should be hanging up the washing but I've walked 3 miles, been shopping and am due to bf the twins any minute so don't want to start a job I wont finish (washing can wait for dh to return from work :)

RedHotSanta · 23/12/2011 14:22

Got up at 7, had breakfast and a quick lookat mn on my phone for 5 mins.
Cleaned bathroom, got kids ready and gave them breakfast.
Off to my mums for the morning and for lunch.
Back home, DD watching TV, DS having a nap, me on mn.
Plenty of washing and cleaning this afternoon, plus making DCs tea.
Later this evening after the DCs tea, they'll watch some tv and I'll go on mn for a bit.
After they are in bed, and I've had my tea, I'll watch some tv and do a bit more mning!

101North · 23/12/2011 14:24

Do LPs post more, do you think, without those pesky DPs bothering us?

I am a slovenly, lazy, child neglecting useless cow.

dampanddrizzly · 23/12/2011 16:57

dunno but i do chuckle when people type stuff such as ooh i am far to ill to feed the baby a bottle, yet am just well enough to log on to MN and spend two or three hours here

or

oh my husband and i are really going through a bad spell, we dont communicate - oh he just got home ..... and then continue giving a running commentary on the ills of their relationship, not realising the irony of ignoring their old man just returning home from work after a 12 hour shift
