Would you be offended. I bought a big bottle of angel perfume at a discounted price. Anyway got giddy and opened it and had a good ole spray off the stuff.

I later decided to go back and buy a bottle for me sis for crimbo, and they had obviously sold out.

So I decided i would gift me sis mine for crimbo and aint got her anythin else. (Sis easily offended) Am now panickin thinkin she will think I am bein a cheap skatin beatch. But I know she lovvves this perfume

WorraLiberty · 22/12/2011 22:33

I wouldn't mind if I got a bottle of my favourite perfume, minus a spray or two from my Sister.

It's the thought that counts Xmas Smile

Lilyloo · 22/12/2011 22:33

I wouldn't be offended no , but it will be obvious it has been opened i guess.

Kayano · 22/12/2011 22:35

Probs
Not noticeable

You could just say you had one spritz to make sure it was the one you wanted/ thought it was/ she would like Wink

I would give her the perfume, I doubt she will even notice!

ohokthen · 22/12/2011 22:46

Prob is the bloody box lid keeps poppin out. But its like 50 mil. I soooo know she loves this. so will wrap it, and say what I said here.

Would that offend you, If I was honest.

It really wouldn't offend me but like everlong said, it might offend her.

I still think it's the thought that counts, but not everyone thinks that way.

saladsandwich · 22/12/2011 22:47

just say you had a sneaky spray because it reminds you of her

Gapants · 22/12/2011 22:49

Just give it to her, say nothing. Wrap it really beautifully though

skybluepearl · 22/12/2011 22:52

tell her you went back to buy hers but there wasn't any, so you gave her yours. how kind are you!

skybluepearl · 22/12/2011 22:53

or tell her you have had a quik sniff - as you were thinking you might get yourself some. and you will.

WorraLiberty · 22/12/2011 22:53

just say you had a sneaky spray because it reminds you of her

What? Sneaky? Xmas Grin

Flanelle · 22/12/2011 22:55

YABVU to use the word gift in this way.

MissMogwi · 22/12/2011 22:55

YANBU say you had a spray as it's so gorgeous, if she notices! She's lucky to get such a lovely gift Envy

Flanelle · 22/12/2011 22:55

As I see has already been said.

ohokthen · 22/12/2011 22:56

And to the English Police. Really at what point did I say "Gift is not a verb".

And yea I will make an extra effort with the packaging ( tissue paper, ribbons and lace at the ready ) Thanks Everyone.

But its like 50 mil

Does that mean it is 50ml then?

ohokthen · 22/12/2011 22:59

ha ha Ilovesooty God damn it lady Yes, that is why I bought it. Big big Bottle. little pounds.

OP posts:
LRDtheFeministDragon · 22/12/2011 23:01

I think it's fine. And besides you had to spray it to remind yourself it was the right one as the name slipped your mind ... right? Wink

Lucky sister.

EtInTerraPax · 22/12/2011 23:07

Um- you used 'gift' as a verb in your thread title, sorry.

I'm not sure whether you're BU or NBU... I don't think it's very nice to give someone something you bought for yourself (particularly when you've used it!), but it's probably better than getting her nothing at all. Can't you just buy her a bottle from somewhere else (i.e. Boots, Perfume Store etc.)?

Mya2403 · 23/12/2011 00:06

wow you're a cheap sket.

ohokthen - if you were my sister I would be very happy with your present and probably not at all notice it had been opened. Or mind if I had noticed!
