DH is out for a works lunch which has now turned into a works all-day-bender. Am now left staring at the perfectly lovely chicken creation I prepared & feeling considerably sulky. Trying to convince myself that scoffing kettle chips, a bottle glass of wine and finishing opening a tin of Quality Street wouldn't make me look like pathetic & petulant Xmas Blush

Eat the chicken thing first and then move onto the crisps and wine and chocs!

MenopausalHaze · 22/12/2011 21:17

Cut out the whole charade and move straight into the Kettle Chips! I'm having Maynards Wine Gums for dinner. Damned fine choice it was too!

I'm having cheese and onion pringles and a nice glass of rose for dinner. DH has gone to the pub.

abigboydidit · 22/12/2011 21:22

Managed to convince myself I was actually saving the chicken thingy for tomorrow and being hideously magnanimous by forcing myself to eat rubbish so that DH and I can share a delicious dinner then.

My mother always played the martyr..she has trained me well Xmas Blush

Go for it. Best bit about having no-one else around.

I'd put the chicken in the fridge to save cooking tomorrow too.

EtInTerraPax · 22/12/2011 21:25

DH had a large lunch today Hmm... so I'm scoffing wafer biscuits, and will get the cheeses out in a minute.

mrsmaltesers · 22/12/2011 21:26

I had christmas tree chocolates, satsuma and diet coke for dinner. Husband also out on the lash. "it's beginning to look a lot like christmas", as they say/sing.

abigboydidit · 22/12/2011 21:36

Christmas tree chocolates you say, mrsmaltesers?

Am on self impsed time out as i type ...

InExcelsisDeo · 22/12/2011 21:54

I had a christmassy tube of munchies with Wine.

I've reached the tipping point where the level of pre-Christmas stress is now high enough to justify starting on the traditional Christmas crutches.

ViviPrudolf · 22/12/2011 21:54

What flavour kettle chips, OP?

abigboydidit · 22/12/2011 22:13

The first bag or the second Vivi Xmas Blush...

If the Quality Street is the strawberry one and the wine was once a grape then you have two of your 5 a day. Grin

THis is a joke right?

I mean, no one would actually ask that question and really need opinions on it would they? If it was me I would be spilling Wine and crumbs all over the laptop as I posted it, and I would only be posting to make everyone Envy :o

Divinyl · 23/12/2011 16:18

Well it is not U but not a good idea if you stand to make yourself a little fragile prior to tomorrow and Sun! This comes from someone who had a sore round of back pain treatment yesterday, and who has been overdoing the Christmas fare for a number of days, and then thought a glass of wine would be a good idea in the p.m. Chastened in the extreme now after a night talking into the great white telephone for no apparent reason at all, and I can't help but think I brought it on myself! Just what I need for the jolly shenanigens ahead...
