AIBU to be furious with gym club

dd has been going for 2 terms and last term was assessed for a proficiency award.

she has decided that she no longer wants to go to club, but the coach has said that awards will only be given to those who return next term.

I had to complain very loudly and offer to pay extra to get her to post me the award. she agreed very, very reluctantly after telling me this was against club policy.

i am SO cross. it feels almost like blackmail to say that your child will only get an award for a test already passed, if you undertake a further financial commitment.

YANBU.

If your dd has done what it takes to get the award then she gets the award. Simple. I feel for the girls whose parents haven't made as much fuss as you and have missed out on something that is rightfully theirs.

If you feel so inclined, I would report it to whatever national organisation the club is associated with.

Our gym club is very expensive because of annual fees on top of termly ones. No way would DD continue going if she didn't want to and I'd defiantly expect awards already earned to be awarded!
