To wish that there was a camp for kids when you're ill?

I feel rough, the flat is a mess and I need to wrap the presents. All I want is to tuck myself up under a duvet and sleep but there are 2 small DCs requiring I do things and play.
If only there was a camp or something they could go when parents are ill!

YANBU at all.

Mine are both poorly, and I am poorly too. I really need to be in bed and sleep but they need looking after and amusing and feeding. Bleugh.

JamInMyWellies · 21/12/2011 12:09

YANBU same here. I have heinous flu. DH is at work parties meetings and wont be home till late. 4yr and 3yr old DS's driving me round the bend.

YANBU. Both older boys have had vomiting, DTS2 had a crazy bout of diarrhea this morning - the baby projectile vomited all over my head last night and then also had diarrhea this morning. I feel fine, but as OH has also been unwell, all poo and sick cleaning as fallen to me!

I'm so tired I will probably come down with something, I always do after a few days of no rest.

One memorable time me and OH both had crippling stomach viruses, the boys were due in nursery (they were fine) but we were both too ill to get them there. As we have no family who could look after them, we ended up paying a nanny £80 for the day to look after them. We had already paid £70-odd for the nursery, plus we both lost a days pay!

That was not a good month.

YANBU. Stick the kids in front on the TV, tell them you are ill, and they need to be good fr you. Order takeaway and spent as much of the day under the duvet as you can.

Lambzig · 21/12/2011 12:34

YANBU, I spent yesterday afternoon shivering under a blanket on the sofa while my 22 month DD rampaged around me with Cbeebies blaring. I was desperate to get her to bed.

Luckily there's a lot of peppa pig on nickjr today so they're quite happy.
I never appreciated the luxury of being ill before I had the DCs!

Brilliant idea. Unless your kids don't want to come home again afterwards.

NewShooz · 21/12/2011 20:07

YANBU it's hard looking after little people when you are poorly Sad hope you feel better soon.

helpmabob · 21/12/2011 20:10

yanbu I am in the same boat at the moment and counting the seconds down to bedtime

Cinquefoil · 21/12/2011 20:11

YANBU. I hadn't really thought about this until I was ill recently, DH left for work, and there DS was, needing constant supervision and entertainment.

MinnieBar · 21/12/2011 20:11

YANBU - hideous case of Norovirus for me here atm and although I had childcare today, tomorrow it's just me and all three DCs and I'm dreading it.

MudAndGlitter · 21/12/2011 20:19

I'm just shivering and achy. It's weird I keep bursting into tears for no reason. I don't usually cry at anything.

Hope everyone feels better tomorrow, or at least in time for Xmas!
