I am currently congratulating myself. Yup I don't care what anyone thinks!

I was 15 stone 9lbs(219lbs)after having ds and am currently 12 stone 7 (175lbs), I have worked bloody hard and although I am actually 6lbs off my target Sad for pre xmas, I am not unhappy with what I have achieved. I have reduced my BMI from 35.3 to 28 and although not ideal I have gone from obese to half way down the over scale and nearing my 1st target of 25.

And this is where I want you to congratulate me, I walked into Zara today and tried on a pair of size 16 jeans but they didn't fit me, so I walked out with a perfect fitting size 14 Xmas Grin.

Please don't berate me for shopping in Zara, being so overweight to start off with, or not reaching my 12 stone pre-xmas target weight. I think 3 stone 2lbs is an achievement, and a pretty bloody good one and the jeans? Well I have never ever been able to buy anything from Zara before, let alone skinny jeans!!!!!!!!

So urm..........anyone got anything to say? Xmas Grin

Well done :)

AgentZigzag · 20/12/2011 19:02

Woohoo! Smile

What's 6lbs between friends??

The last few are the hardest, enjoy yourself over Christmas and sort them afterwards if you can be arsed.

well my wardrobe doesn't quite fit me any more Grin

Just dont put it all back on over christmas Xmas Smile

moondog · 20/12/2011 19:05

Fantastic.
That is a hell of a lot of weight to lose!

KatieScarlettsCrackers · 20/12/2011 19:06

Bloody well done missus.

I'll blow a trumpet for you. It's one of my useless skills.

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 20/12/2011 19:11

Its a very good thing I really loathe christmas food, although I do like brandy butter Hmm

However I have found that I have lost the "taste" for the things I like before, so at lunch time instead of popping into the chip shop I got myself a relatively healthy sandwhich (was late and not much left!)

Why would anyone berate you for shopping in Zara? It's a fine store.

Well done!

Toobluntforsleighbells · 20/12/2011 19:42

Really well done - you are right to be proud of yourself. Grin

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 20/12/2011 19:53

Just done a twirl for dh, he is suitably impressed with the jeans.
I love zara but have seriously never fitted into anything apart from shoes! Am now holding out for the tops to fit but the boobies might be a bit big!

Good for you!!! Blast that trumpet! I was 17st 12lbs this time last year, I am now 12st 13lbs after some hard work and I'm over the moon!

Pats on the back, I'm going to relax, enjoy christmas then get back to normality in Jan (which I'm already looking forward to!)

bellabelly · 20/12/2011 19:58

That's brill [blows trumpet for you]! How long did it take you to lose the weight? I've been losing weight and am pleased to have lost a stone since I started trying (back in May) but getting a bit frustrated with how long it's taking to shift - I still hve ahem several stone-- a few pounds left to lose...

MeconiumHappens · 20/12/2011 20:02

Bloody well done you! You should be very pleased with yourself!

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 20/12/2011 20:03

Hairy - OMG that is brilliant!
Bella - I admit it has taken about 14 months with ups and downs, I joined a mn weightloss board and signed up to MyFitnessPal (come join if you want its free and a bit like fb for weightloss I am Figgyrolls on there too), something just clicked with trying to lose the weight and am about 8lbs from my wedding day weight, I want to lose a bit more and tone up a bit more. Also I think I just set myself realistic and achievable goals which worked, I have plateaued a bit but am looking forward to continue losing it slowly without being silly. I did start by no carbing it, thinking I would do the Dukan diet but I sadly only lasted about 2 days! Calorie counting worked better for me.

Fantastic - well done you! :)

TidyDancer · 20/12/2011 20:08

Well done! That's a fantastic achievement and you should be very proud! :)

bellabelly · 20/12/2011 20:22

That's really useful to know - makes me determined to keep going! (Though am not going to be too strict with self over xmas) I will check out Myfitnesspal - sounds like it might be good motivation for me. Anyway, well done and I do think it's true what they say about taking time to lose it slowly and making sure it says off, rather than crash-dieting and yoyo-ing. I am just impatient!

Onemorning · 20/12/2011 20:29

Well done!
