to strategically 'forget' the little santas helper outfit MIL bought for xmas

We live in London and DH family live in north west we have a 3 month old DS. we are heading up to DH parents for xmas eve, xmas day and boxing day. We last went up to visit PIL about a month ago and MIL presented us with a little santas helper outfit for DS to wear at xmas. Both myself and DH think the outfit is hideous and really don't want him to have to wear it and look like a berk! (although I understand that other people may think he looks cute we just think he will look ridiculous). Anyway DH has suggested that we just 'forget' the outfit and leave it in London.

What do people think - I know it is a present bought with best intentions and I wonder whether to just put him in it very briefly at xmas to try and keep everyone happy - DH is dead against this and really doesn't want the little one to wear it.

WWYD?

Thank you Xmas Grin I'm just happy he smiled on cue for once!

I was hopeing to get a smile from ds sitting on Santas knee, instead he wrapped his hands around his beard and pulled it off

I've been trying to upload them to here but can't seem to do it with the iPhone

Awww, twelve that is the most gorgeous photo!

Sorry to hear about the pnd, I hope you're getting support and feeling better?

OP Glad you've decided to take the outfit. You may think its tacky now, but you'll almost certainly look back at the photos and think they're very cute. :)

I let mine wear tacky outfits until they were old enough to protest.

TwelveGaysOfChristmas · 20/12/2011 16:19

Thank you both! Xmas Grin I know I shouldn't enjoy showing him off so much, but I do!! He's the highlight of my mum and DPs mum's life! First grandchild on both sides so spoiled!

TwelveGaysOfChristmas · 20/12/2011 16:20

And plenty of support from all sides too!
