I can't wait! Our old one's are knackered. MIL has bought us a big set of Tefal ones complete with steamer set!

Is it sad to be this excited about pans? Xmas Grin

YANBU - I'm in the process of replacing all our pans (new induction hob, none of my old ones work) - I'm doing it gradually in leiu of xmas pressie. My new steamer set is lovely - still got to get a good nonstick omelette pan and wok.

I'm sure I'll get tired of handwashing them and polishing them up before long but at the moment they are beautiful Grin

I've been asking for a garden hoover for years - but he won't buy me one on the grounds if he did, I'd probably brain him with it

LoveInASnowyClimate · 19/12/2011 10:59

Oooh, I would also be mega excited.

I am very, very excited by the presence of what I suspect are some expensive, really sharp edging shears under the tree - no more chewing up the lawn edges with blunt sheets for me in 2012.

AFuckingFestiveKnackeredWoman · 19/12/2011 10:59

I am getting shelves for the hallway from dh. I have waited 8 years for sodding storage in the hallway. I am ridiculously excited!

Lexie1970 · 19/12/2011 11:03

I got pans last year from my mum and was thrilled - this year I am getting the frying pan and it has a lid!!!!!! Enjoy and you are defNBU to be excited Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

Fuzzywuzzywozabear · 19/12/2011 11:04

2 years ago my dh surprised me with an electric blanket (I'd been asking for one for years) - he has never surprised me before or since - it's the best present I ever had!

PattySimcox · 19/12/2011 11:06

My friend is getting a new carpet and beside herself with joy

SpaghettiTwirlerPrancerVixen · 19/12/2011 11:09

We're getting a new rug too, a big lime green one from Ikea Xmas Smile

I'd love an electric blanket Xmas Envy

I got a slanket last year....oh how I love it. Best present he has ever (and probably will ever) get me!

Fuzzywuzzywozabear · 19/12/2011 11:21

you know when you really really want something and then you get it and you wondered why you wanted it, cos it's crap - my electric blanket is the total opposite - even after 2 years I still thank my dh for getting it for me - I love it! Xmas Grin

Ambrosius · 19/12/2011 11:24

My mums getting me a stock pot. Grin squeeeee!

Hulababy · 19/12/2011 11:24

yanbu

I often ask for kitchen stuff for presents, esp from my parents or my PILs. I enjoy cooking and it's nice to get the new stuff, esp when it is more fancy versions than I would probably go and buy myself generally. IMy parents are getting me some new knives for Christmas - all different colours, to match some of the Joseph Joseph cookery stuff I have. My brother is getting me some kitcheny bits and bons too and I am quite looking forward to using them for Christmas lunch :)

blackeyedsanta · 19/12/2011 11:27

I saved up tesco vouchers to get an enorous double handled pot so I can batch cook. it is double the size of my large pans and I get a thrill everytime I look at it. [sad emotion]

last year I asked for money to get a 5 way ladder for diy. [even sadder emotion!]

JosieRosie · 19/12/2011 11:29

I've asked DP to get me a cast iron shallow casserole and yes I am very excited about it! Don't be ashamed OP, be proud! Grin

SpaghettiTwirlerPrancerVixen · 19/12/2011 20:24

I'm slightly less excited now. DP seems to think they're stick, as opposed to non-stick! I burn food too frequently to have stick pans! Do Tefal do both sorts? I thought they just did non-stick Xmas Sad

Stick pans are better - try them, you'll never go back!

And no, YANBU. My mum is getting me a small pan and a cheese grater and I'm delighted Blush.

SantasNutellaFairy · 19/12/2011 20:35

I'm expecting a cake stand. I know my mother had bought one for me- it's going to be very interesting to see what it looks like.

I told her it didn't have to be fussy or have lots of detail- just a simple 2-tier one would be perfect. Shall I come back on Christmas day and post a pic?Grin

I am also getting a chef's blowtorch from DH- not an expensive one, but I'll only use it occasionally, so it didn't need to be.

I like being boring.

SpaghettiTwirlerPrancerVixen · 19/12/2011 20:45

I've borrowed one of MILs stick pans as we had to chuck one of ours, and my chilli sausage beanpot stuck to the bottom Xmas Sad
