DD's at church's Christmas party this afternoon. Keeping an eye on DD2 (2yrs) while they're having their party food. Noticed her nose was running and asked for napkin from nearby kitchen. Was given rough paper tissue for hand drying. Quick dab of nose. DD knocked her drink over next to her plate. I still had the paper tissue in my hand so put it straight on top. Woman stood near kitchen quite loudly exclaimed "did she just use that towel that she'd used on her child's nose"? I felt v embarassed. Went to get more towel and she tackled me about it asking me the same question to which I replied "yes I did". Her and the woman behind the kitchen gave me a look that would kill and I skulked off back to my DD. Okay I know it wasn't very hygienic but it was just a instant response to the spillage and it wasn't like there was loads of snot on it and I'd then rubbed it all over some other child's plate!
AIBU to think that she didn't need to shout about it like this in front of everyone?
