DH has arranged for us to go out for Sunday luch together, I really wanted to spend it at home with the DC's as I work during the week. I thought we could go out for ameal one evening when they are in bed, aibu to suggest this?

is your birthday christmas day? Think you should definately be the one who gets to decide what you do. yanbu :)

Yanbu but is next Sunday not Xmas day also and therefore would you not be with them all day instead of a meal out-which inevitably wherever you go will just be a full slap up Xmas dinner as supposed to an ordinary Sunday lunch?

Am I being thick????Confused

YANBU! Why would your DH want to be away from his DC on Christmas day? Unless you don't celebrate Christmas I suppose?

Either way, YANBU

YABU, If It was my birthday I would leave both the children and husband at home and head for a day on my own, with myself and no one else. (Yes, I don't have a spare minute of my life when I am not working or taking care of somebody else's needs).
