Or is that a fashion faux pas?!

How about swapping the black tights for micro-nets? (depending on how short your skirt is. If it's above the knee, maybe don't....)

RainbowSheep · 16/12/2011 10:02

What's a micro net?!

Faux pas. Peep toes = bare feet.
HTH

squeakytoy · 16/12/2011 10:07

Definite no-no.. the clue is in the name.. peep TOE not peep TIGHT SEAM Grin

shave those legs and get some fake tan on and !!!

Puffykins · 16/12/2011 10:08

Micro-net is like a fish-net, only with much smaller holes, so slightly more sophisticated. And it means that your legs (and more importantly, toes) will have the appearance of being a bit bare, so peep toes become more acceptable. To be honest though, if you've got closed toe shoes,I'd wear those. Opened toed shoes in the winter are a bit nineties/ Sex and the City.

Puffykins · 16/12/2011 10:10

In my opinion, I should add. Anyone who can manage open toes and bare legs in the winter has a much higher freeze tolerance than me.

RainbowSheep · 16/12/2011 10:12

I have a wedding to go to next week, what do you wear on your legs to a winter wedding?!

How about nude tights, with no toe seam?

OP posts:
Puffykins · 16/12/2011 10:13

Tights! And closed toe shoes!

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 16/12/2011 10:14

NO! Do NOT wear tights and peep toe shoes.

Puffykins · 16/12/2011 10:14

No to nude tights as well ....

wordfactory · 16/12/2011 10:16

I was wondering this. I have some fab peep toe shoe boots and wanted to wear some sort of fish net affair.

I will look up these micro wotsits.

ViviPrudolf · 16/12/2011 10:17

Rules are meant to be broken, OP

If you're set on black peep-toes, I think it would work best with some bright tights.

ViviPrudolf · 16/12/2011 10:19

like this

BaublesandCuntingCarolSingers · 16/12/2011 10:23

I would, and have done.

It looks nice if they're the right type of shoes and you're wearing the right type of dress (like Vivi's second link) I think it's a bit old-fashioned to say that you can't.

jamaisjedors · 16/12/2011 10:24

And here

gamerwidow · 16/12/2011 10:25

Opaques better than nudes tights imo if you wear peep toes and tights.
Incidently opaques and peeptoes fine for Chloe Moritz so is good enough for anyone I think. www.sugarscape.com/node/677865.

Bare legs and fake tan in winter for WAGS and Essex girls only.

ViviPrudolf · 16/12/2011 10:29

Just be careful you don't bust a Sarah Brown fail

TheScarlettPimpernel · 16/12/2011 10:29

Ooo, a peep toe and contrasting tights is LOVELY.

It needs to be a comparatively 'blocky' shoe, pref. with a concealed platform for instance.

Black shoes - coloured rights. Red is gorgeous.

You can buy opaques with specially designed (almost concealed) toe seams.

BaublesandCuntingCarolSingers · 16/12/2011 10:35

I am with Gamer; I would definitely rather see opaques-tighted legs than bare/nude-tighted legs in the winter. I'm shivering just thinking about it!

HMTheQueen · 16/12/2011 10:57

what about these

Toeless tights!

ViviPrudolf · 16/12/2011 10:58

just all kinds of wrong, them

BaublesandCuntingCarolSingers · 16/12/2011 11:00

Nooooooooooooo not the dreaded toeless tights AGGGGGGHHHHH!

DoesNotGiveAFig · 16/12/2011 11:01

Another vote for micro net or bright contrasting tights here!

tinkertitonk · 16/12/2011 11:05

The toe part of tights looks dreadful, even, or maybe especially, when worn with open-toed shoes. So if you insist on the shoes then I insist on bare legs. Of course in the winter this will say "I am a brazen hussy". Which is not such a bad thing to be actually, since weddings are all about sex anyway.
