I can hear him shooting and splashing, ordering his toys about, giving commands...the bathroom will be a bloody swimming pool. I am just going to sit here and have a glass of wine and get the mop ready. He has a school disco in the morning and we are supposed to be going away in the afternoon so he needs to get to bed.

Does he listen?
Nope. He is too busy swimming the channel in the bathroom.

YANBU Enjoy your wine!! :)

1Catherine1 · 15/12/2011 18:56

I assume by "he has a school disco in the morning" that he isn't likely to come to any harm there.

I remember when I used to find bathing so fun... Us adults are a boring lot...

YANBU - Wine

SpaghettiTwirlerPrancerVixen · 15/12/2011 19:34

YANBU! Sounds like he's having a whale of a time Xmas Grin I remember when my sister and I would slide backwards and forwards in the bath, playing rollercoasters Xmas Smile

Now I can't even remember when I last had a bath! I think I was about 36 weeks pregnant and I got stuck. DD is 6 months old tomorrow!

staylucky · 15/12/2011 19:45

Sounds great fun, DD can be in there an hour and a half sometimes making potions and pouring cups of tea. Wish she'd get washed occasionally. Hmm

UnlikelyAmazonian · 15/12/2011 20:04

We have underfloor heating in the bathroom - it's mostly used to dry out the tiles after bath time!

Backtobedlam · 15/12/2011 20:17

YANBU leave him to it. It doesn't really matter if he's tired for the disco, and he can always catch up on sleep over the holidays.

tigerlillyd02 · 15/12/2011 20:20

YANBU. My DS is often in the bath for at least an hour - hence why he's only bathed 2-3 times a week. He's only 2 so I have to sit in there with him but he loves it so much it seems a shame to spoil his fun!

Hope you enjoyed your wine! :)

bigkidsdidit · 15/12/2011 20:25

I have an hour long bath every evening too :)

I don't play monsters though much

Baths are great!

IwishIwasmoresparkly · 15/12/2011 20:29

YANBU.

DH really doesn't like it if our ds's start this kind of weird and endless games in the bath, but he's out tomorrow so I know what I'll be doing..................Xmas Grin

KateShmate · 15/12/2011 20:40

Spaghetti my eldest 2 girls (4 and 5) LOVE doing that game! We've got quite a big bath so they sit at either end and crash into each other and then roll around laughing for ages!
Although is even funnier seeing my youngest DD's (2) copying them and just lying still in the bath on their tummies like skydivers expecting to skid around the bath like their sisters!

Baths are such fun - ours spend hours in there normally! If they're in a good mood, we will go up for a bath at 5pm knowing we will be there til 7!

UnlikelyAmazonian · 16/12/2011 00:44

glad people are ok with the scuba-hour bath idea. Smile he scrubs up well and smells luvly after

if I shout FIVE MINUTES OR SANTA IS NOT COMING HERE he hurries up.

:o @ swimming the channel and scuba-hour!
DD often comes out only when the water is cold and it's dripping through the ceiling into the kitchen !!
Y(W)NBU!

bigTillyMincepie · 16/12/2011 08:07

YANBU.

Sometimes I persuade DS who is now coming on for 11 to take his old "bath toys" ie action figures, etc and have a long bath after a footy match on a Saturday afternoon. He will stay in there for agesXmas Grin
