to not want to go on a night out knowing that an ex (not a hated ex) from a long long time ago might be there but in the meantime I have gained 2 stone?

Are you worried that you might still like him?

troisgarcons · 14/12/2011 22:32

And this would be a cause for concern? he might have put on 3 stone!

And unles you need to do a 'look what you are missing' sort of performance, exactly why would he even bother what you look like?

felicitywits · 14/12/2011 22:32

I would stay home.

However, when I lost 4 stone I wanted to go out where xp was allll the time. Didn't want him back, just wanted him to see how happy and gorgeous I was (am!) So I probably don't have the best attitude about it all ;)

Hassledge · 14/12/2011 22:32

Do you know for sure that he hasn't also gained 2 stone and got all paunchy and grey and disshelved?

By "not a hated ex" do you mean you still like him enough to want to impress him? But you are what you are - if he's a nice bloke it won't be an issue. Either way, don't let a couple of stone stand in your way of a good night out.

Go anyway but get your hair cut or do your nails to boost your confidence?

FabbyChic · 14/12/2011 22:38

I know how you feel, I'd not want to go either, however I bet you will look fantastic. Put your glad rags on and go enjoy yourself.

Tryharder · 14/12/2011 22:43

As fabby said....

I understand where you are coming from and can see why you would feel this way. However, you should try and not let something like a bit of weight get in the way of doing something you might ordinarily enjoy. Use this as a starting point to get yourself back on track. Go for a walk, dish the sugar, fatty food and even if you have only lost a lb by the night you will feel so much better. Wear clothes that flatter, get your hair or nails or eyebrows plucked. Once you get there you will be fine and glad that you made the effort. Never put off living life until you have reached certain goals, the now is for living. Enjoy

I agree. Get your hair and nails done, a nice frock, and have good night.

For what it's worth, I wimped out on a similar night, and really regret it!!
