being disturbed by dreams of my first love

In the past, I have had an ex or whatever will pop up unexpectedly in a dream but this is usually a one off and it may be years before they appear (if at all) again.

But this time...I have been continuously dreaming about my first love (sort of a best friend who I loved but we never ended up getting it together for a few reasons) like EVERY night for a few weeks now.

I find this disturbing...does it happen to anyone else? I hope it doesnt have some "dream science/magick" reason thingy Shock

Happened to me when I was in a really unhappy relationship. Kind of pointed out to me what I was missing out on, e.g. kindness, shared interests, wanting to spend time together etc.

A few years later, I'm in a very good relationship, and when XP occasionally pops into my dreams I don't see any significance in it, he's just an element of brain-clutter that shows up from time to time.

i dream about a boy who i didn't fancy but fancied me at school. i have really vivid dreams where we hold hands and hug. i don't try to work out what it means i just let the dream happen. it changes each time but i get them 2/3 nights running then nothing for years. i also still bump into this person and i still don't fancy him and he is now married. so all very odd.

I have really vidid, romantic dreams about someone, a sort of "one that got away" type figure, there seems no reason for them (I'm now married and very happy) so I just try not to think about them. You are not alone!

Have you seen your ex in recent years? Heard a song or anything recently? I go through spells of having really vivid dreams, and then months with no dreams at all. I always think they must mean something as they are so 'real' but never figured one out yet!
