Im smug about my children and feel I have a right to be considering I brought them up alone as a single working parent.

And why shouldn't I be proud, it shows I did actually achieve something even if my life was spent with depression and unhappiness.

They are the only glowing light in my life.

Akiram · 10/12/2011 10:59

Who are you going to fine and how much? Xmas Grin
Seriously, chill out t'is all a bit of fun and the ones that aren't fun get an awful lot support both online and in RL.

No, I don' mean all. A minority but a significant one. FabbyChic- being proud of what you've done doesn't count. You've done good :)

Bluddy half of me is supportive and the other half is holier than thou. I decide in the morning which I am going to be that day Grin

LaurieFairyCake · 10/12/2011 11:01

Yep, I'm one of them about a couple of things Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin

Particularly child raising when people ask for advice (it's easy to give advice to get people out of a hole - harder to follow it yourself at all times) - I naturally yell/be a bad parent at times - have just yelled at incredibly annoying dd who has let all the heat out of the house (it's gone from 20 with no heating on down to 10) by leaving her window and door open.

I'm quite sure my advice comes across as smug sometimes, doesn't mean I'm amazing at following my own advice.

WorraLiberty · 10/12/2011 11:02

I think MN is populated by a significant minority of people who abuse the name change function because they're too cowardly to say what they think under a name they'll be recognised in.

If you feel strongly enough to start a thread like this, why not have the courage to let people know 'who you are'?

roundcornsilkvirgin · 10/12/2011 11:02

you need to be a bit more specific OP. Name names - you know it makes sense

Memoo · 10/12/2011 11:02

I'm smug because I actually am so very much better than you. For a start you're illiterate.

YuleingFanjo · 10/12/2011 11:02

op, do you have an opinion on skin-care? None of these smug itches have bothered to answer my thread, probaby because they all have perfect skin and hate me.

Oops sorry I ignored the "significant minority" part too. Apologies OP. In which case I would probably agree with you but also agree with Bluddy that those posters are lying at least half the time.

FabbyChic · 10/12/2011 11:04

I never change my name, so you can see me making an ass of myself all the time!

NinkyNonker · 10/12/2011 11:04

I'm mega smug me, deffo.

Akiram · 10/12/2011 11:04

Worra I totally agree with you. Why do posters namechange just because they think they will get a flaming? I understand posters who do when talking about a sensitive issue but otherwise then no, have the courage to stand by what you think or be open to being persuaded otherwise.

DoubleLLthenanA · 10/12/2011 11:05

Ha ha. Memoo. But some people fail to read the thread and any corrections!!
