I knew I should have listened to DH, although I am not going to admit this to him Wink Grin

At the weekend we were having a mooch around the charity shops in town and the DD's saw this little handheld TV thing, the ones where the picture rolls across the screen. It is a Fifi one and has the most annoying sing song voice singing the Fifi theme tune. My niece has one and I understand now why my brother and SIL have sent it to my parents for when the kids are there.

Both the DD's were ecstatic at finding it and as it was only £1 I bought them it, much to DH's amusement. He predicted that I would be sick of it within the week, he is right Angry How very dare he Wink

Would I be a terrible mum to remove the batteries later once DD1 is at school and DD2 is napping??

YANBU - I hate that toy with a passions. And I ended up with 3 at one point!
Just get rid and tell the kids its missing. In fact dont even mention it again to them and act dumb when they ask about it. They will soon forget about it :)

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 09/12/2011 11:06

We had that. It went to the charity shop Grin

It's catchy, that sort of Bbbbbbbbring at the start. And very, very annoying.

Frizzbonce · 09/12/2011 11:08

I remember Fifi! Of course you're not unreasonable. My daughter went around singing the sodding theme tune until I wanted to throw a brick at the telly.

Then she got into Peppa Pig and went around honking for a while.

Now she loudly sings the theme tune to Almost Naked Animals. She's 7

Just be grateful your DDs aren't into the execrable Barney.

I'd hidden our one.

TeaCider · 09/12/2011 11:12

Ours 'disappeared'. I can't imagine where it went the bin.

StandingAlone · 09/12/2011 11:16

Hahaha I am so glad I am not being unreasonable.
I went to bed last night singing it, while DH chuckled at me.

Be warned though it is VERY annoying.

I think ours may end up being accidentally on purpose put in with the charity shop box, or chewed up by our very good non chewing up things dogs.

I didn't give it to the charity shop as I didn't want to inflict it onto another poor family. Such was my hatred and annoyance with it. Xmas Grin

JKSLtd · 09/12/2011 11:21

Friend's DD had the same, I kind of liked it - better than some tunes - though obv I didn't have to live with it.

DS2 has a Postman Pat one & a MacDonald farm one - he loves them but every now and then I have to hide them for a week or so. They drive me craaaaaazy. Especially when he turns them on then wanders off Grin

StandingAlone · 09/12/2011 11:22

Xmas Grin ha TeaCider I think it may just get lost somewhere Wink My mum has warned me on pain of death that it is not to go to her house. Might send it to SIL instead Wink

Too funny.

We have one too, I bought it in the charity shop recently.

It's gone missing though

StandingAlone · 09/12/2011 16:11

Argh DD2 refused to nap this afternoon, so I am going to have to wait until they are in bed to remove the batteries throw it away
This means DH will know and will say he told me so, grrrrrr, might wait until DH is in bed Wink
