to have a quick nose at DSIL's bank statement when she nipped out the room?

C'mon, everyone does it.

Grin

I'd nipped round this afternoon to have a coffee and discuss Boxing Day arrangements with her any excuse. She wanted to show me what she'd bought for the DC and pooped out to the garage to fetch it, so I sprung into action and had a quick squizz at the Halifax statement sticking out her paperwork basket where she keeps this stuff. Wink

I'm pretty certain that I managed to jump away in time as she came back in the room, therefore covering my tracks.

I'm not BU am I?

(lots of interesting transactions on the account btw Grin)

DISGUSTING behaviour.
i would NEVER EVER do this

I SO would....how much was in there then???

Sassybeast · 08/12/2011 21:02

'Everybody does it'

Pisses me off when people say this to justify their own deviousness. Nice thing to be proud of. Wish she'd caught you.

picnicbasketcase · 08/12/2011 21:02

Ohhh, it was in a basket, I skipped that detail. If it had been put away, YABU. I would've probably sneaked a peek if it had been left on the table or something, but not otherwise. No wonder people are getting cross.

Rhinestone · 08/12/2011 21:02

I think you're incredibly rude, vulgar and sound like a nightmare SIL. What else do you interfere with?

A bit stunned at all the posters laughing along with you tbh.

amicable · 08/12/2011 21:03

YANBU to glance at a bank statement that has been left in full view

YABVU to remove it from a 'paperwork basket', read several pages and put it back in.

Are you jealous of her / insecure generally about money?

Bogeyface · 08/12/2011 21:04

I wouldnt do that and would go apeshit if someone did that in my house.

Thats really not on.

Bogeyface · 08/12/2011 21:04

Is this a reverse post I wonder?

FabbyChic · 08/12/2011 21:05

You are the type of person who riflles down peoples handbags, my mother used to do that it is a complete invasion of privacy and so out of order its untrue.

Its really quite distasteful.

CotherMuckingFunticalChristmas · 08/12/2011 21:06

Definitely a reverse post

mumatron · 08/12/2011 21:06

Is anyone else waiting for 'aibu for thinking my sis is nosey a bitch for reading my bank statement?'

ChaosTrulyReigns · 08/12/2011 21:07
Blush

Bad form.

It's a reverse AIBU.

She jumped like the proverbiable whatever when I came back in from the garage and she was discomfited for a while.

I didn't let on that I knew that she'd done it, as I am a total wuss, but I have been mulling over it this evening and wanted to see what the cnsensus was.

I alopogise for being misleading.

Eh, reverse post?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 08/12/2011 21:08

Ahh.

Cross posts with BogeyF and Cother.

OP posts:
DamnBamboo · 08/12/2011 21:08

Ok, I get reverse post.

But I don't get it?

Why wouldn't you just say what you did at 21:07.

Are you sure it's because very few have agreed with you and you're trying to save (ethernet) face?

DamnBamboo · 08/12/2011 21:09

it's not because very few...

Sassybeast · 08/12/2011 21:09

In that case I'm bloody glad you DID catch her - cheeky cow Hmm

CotherMuckingFunticalChristmas · 08/12/2011 21:09

It was the 'any excuse' bit Wink

She's a psycho.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 08/12/2011 21:11

I dunno Bamboo.

I just was a bit astounded that she would do it and wanted to test the water a bit I guess?

Nope, not doing an about face - Why on earth would i post something that would prtray me in potentially a bad light?

OP posts:
ChaosTrulyReigns · 08/12/2011 21:13

Yus, Cother, she's pops around a lot.

I'm free and easy with my coffee and biscuits.

Grin at Chaos.
You've really opened the vipers' nest, haven't you?
I'm going to report you.

molly3478 · 08/12/2011 21:14

It wouldt bother me tbh. I have seen most of my friends bank statements and I read all my brothers bills and statements as they get sent to my place and I open them all. Couldnt care less if they see mine either really

CotherMuckingFunticalChristmas · 08/12/2011 21:15

and where do you live?...

Grin
DamnBamboo · 08/12/2011 21:17

Well CRT did you really have dodgy transactions?

Will she find out about the gold-plated batman mask and cockring you bought your DH for Christmas?

Molly that is illegal. You are not meant to open other people's post. Why on earth have you seen your other friends bank statements?

troisgarcons · 08/12/2011 21:18

Well, let that be a lesson to shred documents you dont wish to keep
