My housekeeper and personal assistant agree with me btw.

YABU

Your boasting is not stealth, it is overt.

DeepPurple · 07/12/2011 11:22

My pool cleaner and towel attendant don't agree but my nanny, housemaid and butler do.

poorbuthappy · 07/12/2011 11:23

My driver assures me I don't do this and he is always right Grin

I will get back to you when I have finished choosing a new cocktail shaker for the yacht.

NinkyNonker · 07/12/2011 11:24

My 6 hour old dd agrees too, most vehemently, in complex sentences with multiple syllable words. Having a gifted child is such a bind.

MissPentChristmasBudget · 07/12/2011 11:24

YABU. I had this exact conversation with our au pair on the flight to our two-month holiday in Hawaii last Summer and she agreed that I was right.

Hassledge · 07/12/2011 11:26

My G&T child agrees with you as well. So does the accountant we employ to handle the disposable income. The gardener is on the fence, so to speak.

EmpireBiscuit · 07/12/2011 11:26

I agree - thread only brought to my attention by toilet seat warmer (obviously one for every WC and bathroom).

ViviPrudolf · 07/12/2011 11:28

I'm more of an overt boaster round here too. Encouraged by DP, we are achingly modest & discrete IRL so if I didn't have MN to boast all over, I'd BURST with concealed marvellousness.

WeThreeKingsOfMardyBra · 07/12/2011 11:31

There is a slightly serious side to the thread too. I once got accused of stealth boasting because I said I bought olives and hummous in a supermarket thread.

Be honest now, did you say 'supermarket', or did you say 'Waitrose'? Hmm?

WeThreeKingsOfMardyBra · 07/12/2011 11:46

Not sure Veronica. Anyway must dash to get back for my Ocado delivery.

I was accused of stealth boasting when I mentioned what a random collection of food DD had nicked off our plates at a lunch out. I couldn't be arsed to point out that as she is 16 months old she is unaware of what is exotic, and what is 'normal' food for babies...as such it wasn't hugely impressive that she ate whatever was in grabbing distance. Hardly something I should be proud of...what have I achieved exactly?

Anyhoo, I think I am going to go down the blatant route from now on.
