www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/interactive/2011/aug/16/riots-poverty-map
it is there because of the riot conviction data
BUT
as its ward by ward poverty indexed its INCREDIBLY revealing about the demographics of areas
an expert google masher could probably link primary school CVA and a few other things to it.

Zoom out and then pan to where you live .....
is that what you expected to see?

the whole area to the west of where I live is classed as the poorest. It's all moorland and sheep farming with possibly 4 farmhouses in a few thousand acres.
Scumbag rioting sheepdogs obviously

Looking down Lambeth and the A23, it shows that 'rioting' happened where there are shops. Housing estates, residential streets and open areas both posh and otherwise weren't affected.

Local shop owners interviewed said they shouldn't glorify local vandalism by calling it 'rioting'; any other weekend of the year it would have been dismissed as slightly-worse-than-normal mindless weekend vandalism or attempted robbery.

TalkinPeace2 if you like the map (as in the idea of the map itself) you might like this book too

Don't forget that it's the ward of Altrincham which is showing up as a green band MrSpoc, that includes areas like Oldfield Brow which will dilute the wealthier parts of town (and it's also not showing up as "very poor", it's a middle band)
