culturemulcher · 05/12/2011 21:32

Okay, okay, pictures please?

I love a good tree.

ViviPrudolf · 05/12/2011 21:36

Its not finished yet. I'm awaiting my shipment of these to arrive. I'll snap it when they do and annoyingly resurrect this thread to tell you all long after it should be well buried in thread heaven.

Flicking you some sparkly, tinsel-covered v's because I can't put mine up until the 18th

Xmas Envy
ViviPrudolf · 05/12/2011 21:40

Well I'll be flicking them right back with a great big fat greenface Xmas Envy on the 19th when you've got a fancy-pants tree and I've got a pile of needles on the floor under a brown twig covered in overpriced baubles.

DamnBamboo · 05/12/2011 21:43

Will have just moved house so this year, it will be a fake one.

I bet yours look vair vair naice.

Go on, post a pic!

MrsChristmasDB · 05/12/2011 21:43

I am also pleased to report that the devil bird cockatiel has shown absolutely no interest in the tree at all.

I lovingly spent hours doing it the other night then had a panic that he might decide it's the pefect place to play.

When he came out of his cage I think the hissing was enough to indicate that I will not be playing 'find the cockatiel'. Thank goodness. Xmas Grin

dementedma · 05/12/2011 21:47

our tree is dripping with coloured lights, ancient decorations and tinsel. It's a real trashy hooker of a tree and it looks fab Grin

ViviPrudolf · 05/12/2011 21:49

arf @ the thought of MrsChristmas's ASBO bird waiting till the family goes to bed before breaking out of his cage and getting busy with the baubles.

I'm not posting a pic till I've finished stringing up me' cowbells. And that's final.

mine looks ok, i have xmas orniments that the dc have made that make my tree so special.

ViviPrudolf · 05/12/2011 21:53

You see BlissMis I was wondering whether I'll ever be able to let go and let the 'Prulets loose on my tree with their gaudily painted eggbox decs... luckily I won't have to worry about that for a while at they are yet to be conceived.

demented if I'm not mistaken, I can just about make out my tree pulling a catsbum at yours.

Xmas Grin @ Vivi.

No way ! He can't get out unless I get him out, which is a relief !

He's a sweetie really, he's only 8 months but he's quite a talker and likes to copy things. I have taught him to whistle the first line of 'Jingle Bells', which is how he greets us each morning, after "Hello, I'm a gorgeous boy, what ya doin' ?" Xmas Grin

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 05/12/2011 22:14

YABU
Spent all weekend watching people buying Xmas trees (sob). Putting them up (spying on them from the pavement). And my living room will be bare for another 5 days (weeps on dh's shoulder).

Xmas Envy
tallwivglasses · 05/12/2011 23:19

Demented, my tree always has the look of the 'trashy hooker' - or as if the christmas fairy's just thrown up.

One day I'll do tasteful, limit my colours, have a theme, etc...

Crabapple99 · 05/12/2011 23:21

I'm very envious of all the nice trees, our cat keeps dismantling ours.

DeliaSucksStollen · 05/12/2011 23:24

Christmas trees are a bit like children. We all think our own are the most beautiful and amazing ones in the world! So, YABU, because mine will of course be better than yours Xmas Wink. Oh - just gave you a 'fwink'. Sounds a bit rude!

DeliaSucksStollen · 05/12/2011 23:26

Sorry for repeating myself.

Kladdkaka · 05/12/2011 23:31

My Christmas trees (I have 5 :o) are sparse and twinkly and beautiful and arranged with aspie precision. This is a balance to my mothers. My mothers has every decoration, set of lights and thread bare bit of tinsel she has ever owned on it, plus every single item ever made by one of her 8 children or gazzillion grandchildren. It's so overloaded it has to be roped to the wall and ceiling to prevent it collapsing.

Spermysextowel · 05/12/2011 23:41

vivi your overpriced baubles look AMAZIN & I think that once your tree reaches un certain age you should just shave it & claim that it was meant to be a 'piece' to indicate the uncertainty of the current economic climate.

Lord, let me get some in time for Xmas; my sister will be Envy.

Spermysextowel · 05/12/2011 23:45

PS I am also uncomfortable with the 'festive emoticons' as I think the youngsters call them. Even 'fsmiley' seems like an insult.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 05/12/2011 23:55

Vivi I knew this would be you!

Have to say mine looks fab, really fab this year. Coloured lights, and tinsel, and no theme (themes are not good IMO). Lots of beautiful, individual baubles and decorations - I love it Xmas Grin

Mine is terribly shabby, but we love it. Tall and skinny. I'll see if I can get a pic...we needed one this shape to fit into the space we had for it. :)
