Asked to leave because our dog was offending the Muslim children?

We went to watch ds2 play football at a local sports centre yesterday. He was playing on the astroturf which was next to a field. We stood on the field to watch with the dog on a lead. The caretaker came over about 2 minutes later and asked us to leave, not because dogs aren't allowed, but because apparently our black dog was offending the Muslim children in the arts centre next door. We saw some parents dropping children off as we arrived but other than that we were nowhere near any Muslim children. Apparently complaints had been made because we had the dog on the site, we refused to leave at first but the caretaker got the site manager. I am planning on making a complaint but before I send it am I right in thinking this is bonkers? I understand that dogs are unclean but he was on a lead? Seems like a very strange policy, apparently the dog was "worse" because he is black?

Hungarian Vizlas can get back to Hungary.

mumblechum1 · 05/12/2011 16:47

Dogs are fine as long as they wear nappies and have their voicebox somehow muted.

Bastard dog next door has been yapping non stop for the last hour.

Blu · 05/12/2011 16:48

And the mongrels to Mongolia
And the Collies to Colliers Wood.

dancingmustard · 05/12/2011 16:49

Union jack cushions are not my bag.
I have England cushions :)

To put it into perspective I see more and more young Asians wearing England paraphernalia whilst still being Muslim (Shock horror).

If anyone identifies as being English they've every right to be as English as I am.

The some animals being djinn thing was always why my great-grandmother said to be polite to snakes and lizards. She used to talk out loud to any animal that passed, just in case it was a djinn. She didn't want to have been rude. Badi Nani (what we called her) was always considered a bit of an eccentric but I didn't realise until we moved back to Pakistan when I was a child, that my family are just odd, even by mainstream Pakistani-Muslim standards.

Jack Russells can sod off back to that pub in Devon from where they were first bred.

Why breed such a monstrous and unfriendly dog breed?

grovel · 05/12/2011 16:50

GrimmaTheNome · 05/12/2011 16:51

I'd visit Manchester more often if there were lots of Manchester Terriers trotting around. I think I have only ever seen Lancashire Heelers in Lancashire.

I don't think the Queen would be very pleased if her Corgis had to be repatriated to whichever bit of Wales hers arise from. [whew, surely she at least outranks Xenia?]

Get0rf · 05/12/2011 16:51

There was a lot of rubbish in Birmingham almost 25 years ago. Yes the name winterville got used and yes they had very secular Xmas lights.
However a lot of this was simple meanness. They reused bits of the expensive illuminations they had for their summer centenary celebrations for years.
The only place that actually banned the word Christmas was Birmingham Universities Guild of Students (not the university themselves, just the jumped up idiots who ran the student union.)
They declared that Guild funded organisations could not use the word Christmas as it might offend other faiths.
I remember this very clearly because the Hindu student who also volunteered for student advice said ok I'll do the "end of term" party ticketsWink
She designed green ones with a Christmas tree.

Get0rf · 05/12/2011 16:55

Chihuahuas are from Chihuahua, alouise.

I have been there (mexico). It's a shithole. Didn't see that many dogs, tbh.

Reckon Labradors get a raw deal... brrr.

CaroleService · 05/12/2011 17:01

According to my Muslim cleaner, dogs are fine to keep but must stay outside.

Alouisee · 05/12/2011 17:02
