could not believe the title of this thread - this is exactly why DH and I stopped watching The Story of Film altogether - and DH works in the film industry!!

I grew up in Belfast and it is the most irritating voice I have ever heard. It's partly the whining but that Oz style rising inflection at the end of each phrase makes me want to choke him. I can't watch it which is a shame because the subject interests me.

My DH is a scriptwriter and obsessed with film and HOW many hours is there left to watch and oh my gosh if I hear that voice ONE MORE TIME I'LL....

Oh yeah, that is horrible. I don't like the weird rhythm to it. I like the accent though.
