She eats jam doughnuts in a bowl with hot custard. That's weird right?

OP posts:
FellatioNelson · 04/12/2011 05:42

Doughnuts bought yesterday are no good. They go stale very quickly which means if you buy a box of five it is essential to eat all of them in one sitting.

notevenaChristmousie · 04/12/2011 06:22

That sounds yummy! Why had so many of us never thought to do this before?!

lisianthus · 04/12/2011 08:11

Your DW is a genius! I want to eat this now.

Iscreamtea · 04/12/2011 08:39

I have been known to do this Grin

Now I really want a jam doughnut.

FontSnob · 04/12/2011 09:11

YUM! You've started something big Op. Fries (chippy chips/oven chips would be odd) and strawberry milkshake, also yum.

KeepInMindItsAlmostChristmas · 04/12/2011 09:18

Sounds bloody lovely to me

auntiepicklebottom2 · 04/12/2011 09:24

that sounds fantatic, now it's a sunday and i don't normally go out...but i am even tempted to go to tesco and get some dougnuts.

Soups · 04/12/2011 09:36

genius

Jux · 04/12/2011 09:40

spermysextowel, framboise would work brilliantly with that. I think I'm drooling......

Jamdoughnutfiend · 04/12/2011 09:44

Custard and jam doughnut??? I deem this to be wrong - am the expert (nods knowledgeably)

HairyBeaver · 04/12/2011 09:44

Mmmm going to have to try that!

I like yorkshire puddings with golden syrup

cold custard/rice pudding straight from the tin

and most embarrassing the skin on top of cooled custard Xmas Blush

Blatherskite · 04/12/2011 09:45

Jam doughnuts and custard is just a Suet-free version of Jam Roly Poly and Custard surely? With extra sugar. Sounds yum

Fries and Ice cream is possibly borrowing from the Salted Caramel/Chocolate in Chilli type thinking?

What is wrong is the time I made a big Chocolate cake for my friends birthday. We all went out and got pissed had a few celebratory drinks and ended up picking up KFC on the way home as we headed back to eat said cake - the blokes ended up eating the cake after dipping it in the Chicken gravy Shock

Bonsoir · 04/12/2011 09:47

I like doughnuts still hot eaten straight from the paper bag Blush

backwardLFDTpossom · 04/12/2011 09:50

drools

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 04/12/2011 09:56

OP this is a wildly irresponsible post and you should be ashamed. When next year they reveal that the obesity figures have shot up it will be All Your Fault.

Thank god I hate custard.

Soups · 04/12/2011 09:57

You could make a bread and butter pudding with stale doughnuts.

Bonsoir · 04/12/2011 09:59

Or doughnut pain perdu...

BobblyGussets · 04/12/2011 10:05

Custard is the evil feculence of Satan.

Boak at the KFC gravy coated chocolate cake. Were they all sick Blathers?

Blatherskite · 04/12/2011 10:06

Nope. Birthday Boy even asked for another cake the year after so that they could do it again Shock

FourThousandHoles · 04/12/2011 10:14

In this house donuts wouldn't last long enough to be eaten the following day with custard.

Which means I am going to have to go out and get some and try it the very second that I walk back in through the door.

molepomandmistletoe · 04/12/2011 10:28

OMG..I HAVE to do this tonight!
Why the hell didnt I think of this before?

handsomeharry · 04/12/2011 10:32

I do think it sounds weird but then I have an embarrassing aversion to 'wet' and 'dry' food touching. Blush

So on that basis only OP YANBU.

NunTheWiser · 04/12/2011 11:08

Sounds lovely. Grin
My mum also did the warm ginger cake and custard pud. It was divine. Must add those items to my next supermarket shop!

HecateGoddessOfTheNight · 04/12/2011 11:34

mmmm, that sounds lovely.

She is in no way a freak. She is a donutty genius.

KoPo · 04/12/2011 12:17

OP ... What have you done!

DH has now gone out to buy a variety of different doughnuts to see what ones are best with custard. He plans to attempt this with a friend tonight with 8 or more different doughnuts. YOU HAVE CREATED A MONSTER!!
