She eats jam doughnuts in a bowl with hot custard. That's weird right?

Oh my goodness that sounds fantastic and I'd never even thought of it before.

Thats been added to my shopping list for tomorrow and DH and I are going to give it a go.

i eat broken up hob nobs with cold custard. So don't think I could say anything negative about yor DW.

Btw, i use the ready made in a carton sort, not the sort you make from the powder which i've let go cold. That'd be gross - obviously

Hot doughnuts with sugar on are the best.

I feel the only way to figure this out is to try it... "Dp...can you go to sainsburys pleeeeeeeeeeeeease the baby needs doughnuts and custard"

I did a first aid training course run by a paramedic.
He was called to house where a teenage boy had microwaved a stale donut to freshen it up. He took a bite and the jam was boiling and basically burned his throat, which swelled up and he diedSad

So please be very careful when microwaving donuts.

That is absolute genius, and I for one will be buying doughnuts and custard tomorrow.

I imagine you'd have to be careful about microwaving a jam doughnut because jam will get really hot and could burn you badly.

Oooooh. WANT THAT NOW. To do list for tomorrow now looks as follows:

  1. Buy jam doughnuts
  2. Buy custard
  3. Combine custard and doughnut in bowl
  4. microwave
  5. Fall headfirst into bowl.

Yikes bruffin. Sugar does heat up to dangerous temperatures, hotter than water alone.

OP, I think your wife is onto something. I foresee a run on custard and doughnuts in the supermarkets tomorrow.

YANBU I hate custard it's the devils work. Am not too keen on doughnuts either.

However give me a McFlurry and fries to dip in it and I'm there (I know, I know judge away)

Custard is nice but doughnuts are foul. She should have tinned syrup sponge instead.

I don't like jam doughnuts either, come to think of it. Ring dougnuts all the way, safer to reheat and nicer.

Our 6th form treat used to be a shared bag of Dunkin Donuts dipped in a large tub of ice-cream from the ice-cream parlour next door. Top, top, snack.

Still it is better if the doughnuts are heated up. And if you use apple doughnuts its even better.

I must confess to a Hmm at the McFlurry and chips though -how stoned would you have to be before that was a truly great idea? Grin
