...bearing in mind I am on life long meds that say don't drink alcohol when on them on the information sheet.

... it is only 5 o'clock.

...I am alone with 3 kids for the next hour.

...I am shattered and almost cried when seeing the nurse today.

...I have a busy day tomorrow.

...I just want to get drunk and block the world out.

Sad

This being MN, I suppose is not appropriate, and it sounds as though Wine is not either. How about Brew ?

microcow · 02/12/2011 17:14

have a nice bath instead?

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 02/12/2011 17:15

Fab I have a G&T in my hand, so it isn't too early!

If the meds say no though...

Sirzy · 02/12/2011 17:16

Stick a DVD on for the children, make yourself a nice (non alcoholic) drink and try to relax

When the children are in bed have a soak in the bath/curl up with a book or whatever is likely to help you relax without alcohol.

I am tempted to go to sleep tbh.

Just really hit home today how unprepared I was to be a mother and coupled with exhaustion and hormonally rampaging children, it has all been too much this week.

My closest friend is very ill too and I can't do anything to help Sad.

Go to sleep as soon as the children do then, a good nights sleep and hopefully things wont seem as bad in the morning.

Sorry to hear about your friend x

IteotYEARawki · 02/12/2011 17:23

Depends on what the meds are and what they are for, sorry. Some meds will be fine with a glass or two, some will just combine with it to make you feel worse than you already do which I'm guessing isn't going to help.

Brew , hugs and chocolate should mix well with any meds though.

Stick the TV on for the kids and try to give yourself a break.

Can you phone your mum or a friend for a chat? Sometimes when I'm really down I'll ring someone for a chat and just take a big interest in what they have to say and not mention my problems, and by the time we hang up I feel so much better just for the distraction.

TheOriginalFAB · 02/12/2011 17:36

The meds are antidepressants.
DD is being a 100% PITA and very rude.
Boys are fine.
Cat asleep.
Hoping dh on way home.

I don't have a mum but have texted a friend who has replied and one who hasn't Sad. She hardly ever does and I hate being so needy but sometimes I just need her advice SadSad.
