I can cope with it. But DP insists on watching TV on the laptop when Im trying to watch Come Dine With Me educational documentaries. This is normal for him, at his mums they have turkish tv on in the kitchen with UK tv on in the front room (this is a through-room so technically the same room...)

You have to concentrate on which one you want to listen to. I dont want to have to concentrate in the evening, I concentrate enough all day. I find myself sitting with a furrowed brow.

AIBU to make him wear ear phones? He says he can listen to and pay attention to both at the same time. Lies I think. Xmas Hmm

it would drive me mad so YES someone needs to have headphones on or go in another room with the door shut!

ViviPrudolf · 02/12/2011 15:31

No No NO to multiple aural input. Mr Pru is made to kindly asked to don his headphones to watch the F1 on his laptop while I'm catching up on X Factor watching educational documentaries all day Sunday...

He needs headphones! We keep some in the front room just for this.

I grew up in a house where the TVs were on permanently in the lounge and in the kitchen, on different channels, whilst Radio 4 was never switched off in another room. All the doors were open, the volumes were up high, and it was a small house. As a result I am a silence loving person and unless someone is actively watching something, it is switched OFF. If I'm watching something and dh turns on YouTube my programme is paused and he is glared at until he turns his volume off or leaves the room. Can't bear it. You are SO NBU.
