oh YOU KNOW.
for eg my phone dials my MUM> i dont realise.
Im talking to mates - she listens in and then goes on about what i was saying

OP posts:
LoveBeingAFirework · 28/11/2011 19:00

What were you saying?

TheSpreadingChestnutTree · 28/11/2011 19:02

I usually have a bit of a listen, but it's usually exp at work, so not very interesting, or the sound of a phone rustling in someone's pocket. What were you saying though?

MmeLindor. · 28/11/2011 19:04

oooh, it is bloody rude. But tempting. Depends how interesting the convo is and if my name was mentioned.

grumplestilskin · 28/11/2011 19:04

depends on what you were saying Grin

SeeLyon · 28/11/2011 19:05

i was talking nail varnish
didnt mind it apart from her going on about " ooh you were saying this...."
i thought - why were you listening

I know someone whose phone went and it was her h shaging somone

OP posts:
JamieComeHome · 28/11/2011 19:06

Oh, how could you not listen in?

But then it would be rude to mention it to that person

thisisyesterday · 28/11/2011 19:06

so when she answers the phone she should KNOW immediately that you have misdialled?

she shouldn't perhaps listen, and say "hello? can you hear me?" and then listen a bit more to check that it's an accidental call and not just you chatting to someone momentarily not realising she has answered?

SeeLyon · 28/11/2011 19:07

I often get to listen to the contents of Hs pocket

ie his arse.

OP posts:
SeeLyon · 28/11/2011 19:07

yes after "hello hello"
you then say " hey ho " and hang up

OP posts:
SeeLyon · 28/11/2011 19:07

( well you dont SAY hey ho)

( or you can if you like but it Serves No Purpose)

OP posts:
LoveBeingAFirework · 28/11/2011 19:08

It's even better when you get a massive Answerphone message

SeeLyon · 28/11/2011 19:09

why

OP posts:
SpaghettiTwirlerAndProud · 28/11/2011 19:14

My sisters phone was in her bag once and she accidently rang mum, my mum answered and was shouting 'HELLO? HELLOOOO?'. This was about 7am, no-one else around and my sister was crapping herself because she could hear someone who sounded like mum very faintly shouting :o

When I was a teenager I dialed my then boyfriend who pocket answered and I heard him talking to another girl about dumping me for her. Thank goodness I was only 14 at the time and soon got over it! Was gutting at the time though.

If you ring from a landline though you can't ring anyone else until the other person has hung up, otherwise every time you pick up the phone the person that answered will still be there. In that case there is no other option but to shout. Could your mum have been doing that? She probably just thought it was funny.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 28/11/2011 19:30

I accidentally dialled my friend while I was having sex Blush

And school while having a fishwife moment screeching at the dc

I suppose it may have been worse to call school during sex.

fuzzywuzzy · 28/11/2011 19:36

My friend's (then) boyfriend accidentally phoned her, she heard him talking to his best friend about how this girl he had (recently) slept with could be pregnant with his child.....

Thank god, my phone locks to prevent accidental dialling (not that I've got anyone pregnant, I don't think)

SantaDesperatelySeeksSedatives · 28/11/2011 19:40

I dialled my mum once while having sex. Oops.

Told her I was running for a bus. Blush

Don't think she believed me...

And yes in answer to your question OP, quite rude.

Hassled · 28/11/2011 19:44

Whether I'd keep listening would depend on who it was and the how interesting the conversation was. I'm not so nice a person that I'd instantly hang up without at least finding out what was going on.

Backtobedlam · 28/11/2011 20:42

I'm paranoid about this happening to me...I always check if my phone is locked before I start an embarassing conversation, and even before sex! What did your mum hear you say?

SeeLyon · 28/11/2011 20:43

oh just balls.
was the relish in which she told me that irked i think

OP posts:
Backtobedlam · 28/11/2011 20:52

Not too bad then...but yes, I think she should have hung up as soon as she realised you hadn't meant to call her

smartyparts · 28/11/2011 20:57

I couldn't not listen in. But it is bad manners.

My H phones me from his pocket all the time. I have listened to him going to the loo more than once.

Are you sure you accidentally dialled her, rather than she's just following you on twitter? [freak out]
