I've just had my 21 year old DD sobbing down the phone to me, one of her old school friends collapsed and died in the street of an aneurism a couple of days ago , she was 20 and training to be a nurse Sad , this follows another young man she knew from school dying in Afghanistan last month and today is also the anniversary of another friend's death , she died of an allergic reaction to medication.
DD is 40 miles away at Uni and I just want to give her a big hug.

:( that's a lot of loss for someone so young. Perhaps a bit of grief counselling would be helpful. And yes, life can be very unfair at times.

Your poor DD. That's a lot of young loss in her life.

I'm glad she's got such a loving Mum.

Oh, Malificence Sad That is very sad and yes, a lot to deal with at her age. Does the school have a counselling dept.? Can you send her a box of goodies to cheer her up?

You sound loving and caring and that will make a huge difference to her. I hope she has friends at Uni to talk to aswell - I remember my Uni friends being brilliant at times like this.

She's got two lovely housemates and her boyfriend, I just feel a bit mean because I've told her not to drive home for the night, I really don't want her driving when she's upset.
