To want to give this dad a slap with a wet fish and a good telling off ?

Most days when taking the kids to school I see this chap bring his 2 kids, nursery and reception age, on his bike, on one of those chairs on the back things. As far as I can tell, one of them sits between his seat and the proper seat. What really winds me up tho, is the kids don't have helmets, but he does.
AIBU to want to give him a piece of my mind ?
School is next to a very busy road. I think he's fecking mad and reckless, and selfish.

I point you to one of my previous threads and the dad who brought his child in to school on a bike, no helmets in sight and him with her on his shoulders, holding her legs with one hand and the handlebars with the other. Madness!

Yanbu in wanting to, but ywbu if you actually did.

He'll just tell you to fuck off anyway. Then what?

Are the kids at your school? Why not leave a note on his bike when he takes the kids in. I would not confront him yourself. You might get a tirade of abuse. If he still turns up with helmetless kids I would then let the head know and ask her to mention it, or send a note home to ALL the kids stressing road safety.

He sounds like a tosser!

He obv understands the safety aspect of wearing a helmet if he himself wears one. Where I live I would get rather unsavoury words thrown at me if I approached a parent to talk to them about this. Can you ask in school if they are doing anything about road safety soon?

is there a local community police officer who you could have a quiet word with? My local school has one who attends drop-off time once every so often.

Thanks for the ideas, will give the community policeman a call, if the guy is such a knob that he does this anyway I can't see a flyer about road safety from school getting him to act but a word from the police might shame him into it.
