AIBU to think that 'Santa' should at least pretend to be jolly?

Took ds (4) to see Santa at our local Xmas fair yesterday. He walked in, Santa said 'Hello, what would you like for xmas little boy?' in a very grumpy bored voice! Ds said very quietly what he wanted, got his pressie and practically ran out of there...on the edge of tears. I think I would have cried going in there!

This was our first time visiting Santa, he was so excited! Now he's freaking out about Santa coming to drop pressies of xmas eve.

I know the Santas must be fed up sitting around and saying the same thing to kid after kid after kid...but surely if you sign up for it make a flipping effort!!!!

Sorry... went off on one there! Blush

AIBU???

No, you aren't. Part of the magic of christmas for little children is big jolly santa.

Perhaps you can tell him that it wasn't santa, it was santa's helper. Since santa can't be in every grotto at the same time, he employs helpers

Hecate Thats a brilliant idea!
I think santa may send ds a letter explaining all the details!
< Puts thinking cap firmly on head to regain the magic of christmas!>
