Following on from the towel thread where some people wash their towels once a year Wink how often do you change your knickers?

I honestly can't imagine a woman wearing her knickers for more than one day.

I can imagine blokes doing it.

I can imagine blokes wearing them for a couple of day and then turning them inside out and wearing them for a couple more days and then beating them into the washing basket with a big stick Grin

but I can't see a woman wearing crusty knickers.

Maybe I'm being sexist or something though

usualsuspect · 27/11/2011 14:35

high days and holidays

moondog · 27/11/2011 14:36

Towels and pjs daily??
Eh?

picnicbasketcase · 27/11/2011 14:40

Every day, but twice if changing to go out in the evening. Bras usually daily or every other day.
I wear PJ's for two nights though.

shouldnotbehere · 27/11/2011 15:27

Daily.

rhondajean · 27/11/2011 16:39

Daily knickers at least. More if Im at gym or going out in the evening or just feeling particularly moist (sorry).

OP I have resolved the other people's skanky towels situation. On the rare occasion I may be forced to go to a house which I dont know if it has clean towels, I shake my hands and dry on my own clothes, I know where they have been.

Gay40 · 27/11/2011 16:47

I'll out myself as a freak right now. I can't wear anything twice. Once it's been off my body, it cannot go back on UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I have to use clean towels every day, or at least have a system where no-one else could have touched the towel I use.
I can't even stay at other houses until I've established their towel setup.
Bed linen is washed weekly, but if I was rich and had servants it would be changed daily.
The waste of water and detergent drives DP mad, but there we go.

QuinionsRainbow · 27/11/2011 16:51

Clean knickers and socks daily for all here. The females among us make bras last two or three days, or even longer by leaving them in the back of the bedroom chair(!). We don't do vests (as underwear anyway) and our night attire gets showered every morning and evening.

It's been like that ever since we became a household, and probably always will be.

Sassybeast · 27/11/2011 17:00

Ex MIL washes her knickers in the shower. With lifebuoy soap. Then hangs them on the towel rail to dry until the next day. Even if she stays in someone elses house. Am not quite sure if she actually uses her knickers as a flannel in the shower - although it wouldn't surprise me.....

Ariesgirl · 27/11/2011 17:05

Gay, I don't want to sound mean, but have you considered whether you may need help with this issue? Because not having any clothing touching you if it has already touched you, or not touching towels anyone else has touched, and if this inhibits your social life , well this goes way beyond being keen on hygiene.

fraktious · 27/11/2011 17:07

If they've been off they don't go back on. However when doing weird shifts including sleepovers I may have gone 36 hours because it wasn't possible to shower. Or rather it was but I wouldn't have wants to risk it!

marriedinwhite · 27/11/2011 17:07

clean knickers, tights, bra, shirt for dd and I every day. I also don't wear trousers more than twice. Wash dd's school skirt and jersey weekly.

Nighties go two nights.

Clean pants, socks, shirts for dh and ds daily. DS has trousers and jersey washed weekly. The boys don't wear pjs

Blazers are dry cleaned every term.

Ifancyashandy · 27/11/2011 17:19

Clean knickers every day. And fresh ones if I've been to the gym/am going out that evening.

Clean bra every day (always wear matching sets).

Clean pj's every night.

Clean tops every day. Trousers can go two wears.

Clean towel every other day. Bedlinen changed weekly.

And I use muslins for cleansing - changed daily.

Usually twice. I like clean ones for bed as well as at the beginning of the day. (i don't usually wear them to bed but am pg so do).

cunexttuesonline · 27/11/2011 17:34

I only wear knickers once. But for everything else I am a bit of a skank, I'd wear a bra for about a week, and wear tights sometimes 2 or 3 times Blush Tops I only wear once, but trousers 3-4 times..

Towels weekly ish and bedding every 2-3 weeks.

moondog · 27/11/2011 18:26

All this washing ruins and fades clothes.
If you have a shower every day and a clean house, it really isn't necessary.
I can';t beleive how much time you lot must waste washing and drying clothes.

ilovesprouts · 27/11/2011 18:30

every thing clean every day

MotherPanda · 27/11/2011 18:34

I change my knickers every hour.

Can't believe you skanky lot - only changing once a day.

Disgusting.

MunchingNoPickles · 27/11/2011 18:41

Knickers and socks and trews night boxers daily, more if showering before going out.

Bra, pj top (me) every 2-3 days. Tops do 2 days unless a sweaty day.

Pjs weekly for DH

Towels and bedding 3-4 weeks

pranma · 27/11/2011 18:43

I change knickers at least daily or,if I am going out in the evening and have an extra shower,I change them again.
Bra's twice a week and towels twice a week-nightie twice a week.
When i was a child[40s/50s] it was clean knickers once a week Blush after bath night on Saturday!!!Only babies were bathed daily.

ohgawdherewegoagain · 27/11/2011 18:46

I'll shock you all. Went out last night and had hangover and houseguests this morning. Decided to just get up and throw on some clothes and because of being tiddly last night, I slept in my drawers, and I'm still wearing them. However, I'm usually a clean freak and I feel as scummy as hell. Going to dive in the shower now! Oh, I can wear a night dress for more than two days also. (Just in case anyone wants to know, I wash my main towel once a week but always have separate hand towels should any visitors need to use my loo. They are always clean, fluffy and lovely so no one should be concerned about drying their hands in my home. Have a friend that always has chewing gum grey towels and they make me feel sick so I dry my hands on loo roll!) I like these threads......

LaurieFairyCake · 27/11/2011 18:49

I'm a 'once a month' clean towel person.

But I wear clean clothes and pj's every day (apart from cardigans - they go weeks without washing)

theincredibequeenofwands · 27/11/2011 18:55

I wash everything at the end of the day.

Only thing I might hang up at the end of the day and wear again unwashed are jeans.

Same for everyone in our family. Clean clothes each morning.
