AIBU to be worried stupid about our kitten?

We took on two rescue kittens (now 6 months old) about 7 weeks ago - they are absolutely lovely. They were both neutered/speyed about 10 days ago and are doing fine. We have been letting them go outside whilst we were at home for about the last 5 days. They have been going for a potter and then coming in within the hour. Tonight we popped out for a drink and let them go outside when we went as they were both crying at the door. We were gone about an hour and when we came home the little boy kitten came to greet us. But his lovely sister is nowhere to be seen. She's been gone about 4 hours now which is unheard of for her as she's a timid little girl.

We've called and called her but she hasnt come back. Am now worrying about foxes as she is quite small despite her age Sad and we live in woodland.

Can anyone cheer me up and tell me she will come home? Our last three cats all lived to be very elderly so its been many years since we have had to fret over a kitten. I'd forgotten how worrying it is when they go awol....

I didn't post but our whole household were gripped with this! Everyone kept asking if she had been found yet, and due to constant checking I didn't get the ironing done!! Grin

Glad its good news...didn't want to comment until the homecoming, but for anyone who has had kittens it was definitely a feeling of "there by the grace of God..."

Has Rosie asked to go out yet follyfoot? Grin

follyfoot · 28/11/2011 18:19

Funnily enough no Sparkling Grin She has been out - in a cat carrier - to have her stitches out though. Maybe we will just take her outside in that in the future. Or a papoose (am I being a bit over protective here?)

Gordon is very happy to have her home and was up to his usual tricks attacking Mr D'Arcy Folly's toes at about 6 am....
