Sorry, ds has just done drawing on paper, which accidentally went over the edge on to the carpet. It's a dark/royal blue mark on a pale blue carpet.

It's a rented house. Nice carpet otherwise. Argh.

How can I get this out? Please help!

Actually, angels have been kind and it is described as 'washable' (it's a big fat Crayola pen). Any tips on how to wash it out then/ warm water? Cold/ Soap? Vax? etc?

If it was clothing I'd just chuck it in the machine, presumably, but can't do that with a fitted carpet and wary of using stain removers in case I accidentally bleach the carpet!

Anyone with any experience/common sense?

Thanks.

dab gently with nail polish remover then wipe with soapy cloth

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 26/11/2011 15:16

oh if its washable then just soap and water will do it if not try washing powder / liquid and blot well after

vanish is a useful addition to the cleaning cupboard for next time Smile

use cold water as warm/hot could set the stain.

Thanks all - I LOVE CRAYOLA. Having discovered that I am out of Vax liquid, out of hairspray (another internet suggestion), don't know where nail polish remover is, I tried with tepid water and result - the stuff virtually leapt out of the carpet onto my waiting kitchen towel.

Note to self, 1: make sure ds draws on a table in future.

Note to self, 2: throw out all felt tips not crayola.

Astonished how easy it was. Carpet looks exactly as before (can't say good as new, but then it wasn't that before Grin ).

Thank you!
