and i think the agency have let it to somebody else. all my checks have come back fine and they said i should be moving in a week on saturday and i should have got my keys and signed the actual tenancy then, they've rung today and told me the landlady had sold the bungalow but she might have something coming up next week. i took their word for it till i got home.

been online and its coming up as a let agreed property, i'm not sure but is this not dodgy once i have paid my fees? surely they cannot take your money then give the property to somebody else?

They can;t do that, no. But I'm confused about the landlady selling the property. I don't really understand what you (or they) mean. If yo'd not said that then I'd assume that the 'let agreed' was referring to you. Call them now and get them to clarify the situation. If there's no property for you to move into, then they need to pay you back your application fee.

I also think 'let agreed' refers to you. If she's then sold the property that is Not On, but I imagine they are as annoyed with her as you are, if that's the case, as they'll no longer make money off it. They should refund your fees or find you somewhere else asap. I would be on the phone complaining - 'might have something next week' is no good.

well, the house was on the market for sale as well as for rent but the lettign agent said it would come off the market when i rented it. it was still online yesterday as advertised to rent, today after they rung me up i checked and the house is still for sale i was expecting to see STC on it, but its let agreed on the rental page on rightmove. if the let agreed was for me i'd have thought that would have been on yesterday?

i'm going to ring first thing and complain, i'm desperate to move so i don't want to kick off too badly because i really need a house my house is full of damp and it's making us ill

Website updates don't happen immediately tbh, there will likely be one member of staff doing it and they could only do it once a week. I wouldn't want to rent a house knowing it was on the market, although I'm sure when I worked in lettings a new buyer would have to honour the remaining rental contract. I have no idea if that's still the case though. Very very unusual of them to allow a sale and a rental agreement to happen simultaneously.

well i did question the letting agent at the time and they said the land lady had it up for sale as well as for rent because it wasnt selling because i was very dubious about renting a for sale property but they have to sell it with a sitting tenant so i was willing to take it. i feel so angry that i have been taken for a ride i'd started packing and prepared my little one for moving
