DD (5) is getting a Karaoke /CD Player and some Polly Pocket stuff as her main present. She wants a DS but both DH and I are reluctant to cave in on that front just yet. We're going to try and hold out at least another year..

For Father Christmas stocking presents she is getting a secret diary, a butterfly watch, Barbie DVD box-set, a dress-up wedding dress and veil.

Last year (when she was 4)we bought her the Rosebud Dolls House from ELC and assorted family bought her the furniture sets. I think she has played with it about twice throughout the year. I am hoping that she will play with it more as she gets older other it will have been a complete waste!

Oh, and how could I forget the biggest, most important thing that DC's are getting in time for christmas?! We are picking up our kitten next Friday. I have told DD and DS that this is being classed as their main christmas present from Mummy & Daddy but no doubt they will have forgotten all about that come xmas day!

Disclaimer: I am aware that a pet is not just for christmas.

My 4yo DD is getting a leapster explorer from us, will tide her over til she's old enough for a ds, plus a wee scooter and a girl's world styling head. She's getting the Barbie puppy playset thing too, because I found it for much cheapness somewhere. My mum and dad are getting her a pink storio. Am trying to keep the volume of pressies down this year, I have no room for more toys!

Cheers Pathan she is the girl among 3 brothers and loves dancing and singing! The karaoke machine probably won't make much difference to the noise levels in our house Wink

WhatSheSaid · 24/11/2011 19:39

My DD is six now but I remember buying the V-Tech Camera for her when she was four. It has loads of games on it and she still plays with it a lot. Her 4 year old brother plays with it too.

She chose a hair styling head from ELC with gift vouchers, certain she was four then too. Um, what else - Peppa Pig phonics, Aquadraw/doodle, and a puppet theatre. Till and playfood, shopping basket.

She's also a fan of doll's houses and arty crafty stuff.

If you wanted to get a pet, I would get a couple of guinea pigs instead of a hamster. they are very good for kids because they like being handled and we have never had one that bites....they are such placid creatures.
